Kiana Docherty | How Did Amy Slaton Lose 100Lbs? | 1000-Lb Sisters Reaction Video | Motivation | TLC @KianaDocherty | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
We're discussing Amy Slaton's weight loss and her story of success - specifically we'll discuss the motivational factors that helped get Amy in the right mind frame to lose over 100lbs on TLC's 1000-Lb. Sisters.
Motivation is the "drive that initiates and maintains goal oriented behaviors", it's the push a lot of us need to get started on our weight loss journey.
Amy Slaton's situation was extremely "Motivating" for many reasons. (However Amy's hard work is what made her weight loss and dream of having gastric bypass surgery come true - not just motivation.)
Amy had a great reason for wanting to change - she wanted to have a baby and start a family.
Because family is something Amy valued very deeply - her goal was linked to her sense of identity and this makes it very 'motivating'.
On the surface, Tammy Slaton seemingly had more reasons to change (as she's in bad shape from her morbid obesity) - but in light of these motivational factors we can see why Amy's situation was truly the more motivating of the two. Health is simply not as motivating as causes that are less ambiguous and more dear to who we see ourselves as individuals.
