Washington, D.C. - The House overwhelmingly passed repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell with little support from Republicans despite attachment to military spending. Additionally, Senate GOP leaders plan to filibuster similar legislation on the other end of the Capitol. The GOP's nearly unanimous vote is ironic. Apparently conservative legislators hate gays more than they like the troops. According to the vote, the GOP had rather have no military than a military with open gay servicemen and women. Another irony is that 75% in the U.S. support repeal and even 60% of Republicans but the GOP must not listen to the people as they claim. Maybe that is more hypocritical than ironic.
