Behemoths are one of those annoying types of machines imo. It's best to kill them asap. When you see it in the wilds, they're always a pair so you have to divide my trip mines carefully since you can only put 15 at a time. On this site, a couple of Longlegs spawn too so you'll have to clear them as well in order to collect your precious loot.
