This is the first test of the drive system of my new r2
I'm not too happy with the centre foot and the two 2.5" casters and I think I'll need to put ankle locks on all 3 feet and still need to sort the clearance of the casters or look into getting some different ones
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll be able to sort those issues out and then route the power up into the dome for the lights
my soldering is not that great as there are a fair few "dead" leds but I'll sort that out soon
follow my build at www.mickpell.co.uk
£11 million was raised throughout the day worldwide with many causes benefiting including Medicinema
More pictures can be see at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mickpell/sets/72157610989472379 where I took along my R2 unit
Just need to sort out a hologram projector next!!
Still need to sort the level and angle of the centre foot, add a periscope and add the lights for the rear logics
Credits at the end show what parts were used in the build
A&A foot holder
scooter motors
12v batteries
Viper speed controllers
Hitec RF gear
Wii boxing

Kings 4 Ducks 1
Air is located at the end of Forbidden Valley, near to Nemesis. The ride has loading bays in the station, allowing one train to be loaded while another is unloaded. After taking a seat and lowering the restraints, the seats rotate 90°Forward leaving the passenger facing the ground.
The ride commences with a short passage through a tunnel out of the station, followed by a lift hill. The first drop dips to the right, rises up to a 180 degree turn, and drops down in to a large drop to ground level. The track then twists over so the riders are riding on their backs, performing a large upward left turn before twisting back so riders are once again in the prone position, flying underneath a small ravine. The track then pitches up in to a tight turn before performing a 360 degree barrell roll, banking over the service garage and dropping in to a swooping anti-clockwise turnaround. The train hits the brake run and re-enters one of the two stations.

The ride itself is a mad few minutes of big drops, an overbanked turn, some helixes and a few tight twists. The cars spin independantly from the track, so you'll find that every ride is different. Most riders get off the ride with a smile on their face; this ride does not pretend to be as frightening as Nemesis but it isn't tame by any stretch either.
The ride was designed by Bolliger & Mabillard and opened in 1994 in the Forbidden Valley area of the park. It is built in trenches to reduce its height above ground in order to comply with local planning restrictions which require Alton Towers to build below the tree line. Nemesis is based around a legend created by the Tussauds marketing department; a monster which was disturbed during routine maintenance work has created a large hole in the Staffordshire landscape and had to be pinned down with hundreds of tonnes of steel. Alton Towers claim that it is the most intense ride ever.

The coaster has a simple layout with a 180 ft drop at 87.9° degrees into a dark tunnel followed by a 180° banked turn back to the station. The open design cars on the coaster are larger than typical, with each car accommodating up to sixteen passengers in two rows of eight. The back row is slightly raised to give passengers a clear view of the drop. As each car reaches the drop it is held by a brake for several seconds and passengers can see the words 'Don't look down' on the ground in front of the dark tunnel in order to add to the atmosphere of the impending drop.
