My arrangement of one of my favourite seasonal tunes. The title says it all, although the original lyrics were a bit more ambiguous.

As well as being an award winning guitarist, Wendell writes some of the cleverest and funniest songs you are bound to hear. Be sure to check him out here on Youtube or at http://www.wendellferguson.com
Another one for the Beatles afficiandos. Compress the drums, bass, guitars and vocals (and throw away the cowbell) to a solo instrumental arrangement. Voila!
And for the keeners, there’s also a transcription available through the above link.
The Slippery Slope, a bit of fun slippin' and a slidin' on the fretboard.

Scott Joplin's ragtime piano classic arranged for the six string piano.
Vince Guaraldi and Lee Mendelson put this piece together for the first Charlie Brown holiday special in 1965. At the time they could have hardly imagined that half a century later it would still be a standard in the holiday season songbook.
Available on the album The Voice in the Grain at http://www.bobevansguitar.com/cds . For the guitar-centric viewers, I'm playing a guitar built by Peter Sawchyn of Regina ( http://sawchyn.com/.../signatu.../187-be-87c-bob-evans-model )
And here's an interview with Lee Mendelson mentioning the writing of Christmas Time is Here. youtu.be/SkZu5H4Wb_M

This is my take on Mississippi John Hurt's standard Richland Woman Blues. As I mention in the introduction, this interpretation is more inspired by the Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band arrangement than MJH's original.

You'll have to excuse the wind rumble and audio quality. This is a field recording in the truest sense. You can't see it (although you can hear it) but the wind was blowing at about 50km/h. There is a very fine sand that gets blown around in the air and gets into cameras and phones, not to mention every bodily crevice. So we only took one shot at this.
The audio was recorded on my iPhone, which you can see in a couple of spots strapped to my thigh (whew! There's a phrase I never thought I would utter in public) and my wife filmed it on her little point and shoot Lumix. The Lumix appears to have taken a big bullet with all that sand permanently jamming the zoom and shutter mechanism.
I was considering sweetening the audio a bit by adding some reverb. But then I realized if there ever was a time when it was appropriate to just leave the audio dry, this was it.

This is Scott Joplin's classic Maple Leaf Rag. It was published in 1899 and became THE hit that put ragtime music at the forefront of American Popular music for the next ten years or so.
I arranged this for guitar waaaay back in 1973 (gack!). I'm surprised I can still remember it.

Perhaps the creepiest of the standard holiday songs. This Orwellian view of a Christmasy Big Brother monitoring and keeping notes on us asks the question "What are we thinking?".
Fortunately, this is an instrumental version, so there's no need to succumb to the seasonal paranoia that usually accompanies hearing the lyrics to this song.

This is a piece I wrote for my mom when she was diagnosed with Alzheimers. I was originally trying to put in to song the many issues you try to deal with when coming to terms with something like that. In the end words failed me, but this melody came out of it.
