WHEN Jessie was first diagnosed with herpes, she didn't know what to expect. The mom admitted to Truly, "I really didn't know anything about herpes before I was diagnosed. One of my biggest fears was that I wouldn't be able to have more kids." Jessie was already a mom to Preston, now four, but knew she wanted more children. Determined, she did her own research and eventually went on to have Priya, now 18 months old. "I was scared that I could pass it onto her, but I did everything that I could to protect her from that and take care of my body so that I could take care of her," Jessie explained. She added, "As you can see, she's very, very healthy." Despite having two healthy kids, Jessie has faced significant judgement over her decision to become pregnant again. "The judgement for being a mom with herpes is wild. People say a lot of really, really mean things," she revealed. In this episode of My Extraordinary Family, Jessie will delve into the scrutiny she faces as a mom with herpes and explains why she'll continue to share her story with the world. Reflecting, she explained, "I want to teach people that herpes is not as bad as people make it out to be. It's not the end of the world and you can still have a very healthy and full life, even if you have it."
