Wanting to illuminate the dial and meter on my HW-9 I found tiny bright white LED's .These are extremely bright and efficient each of the 4 Led's in the HW-9 taking only 5 MA when wired in series with a 2200 ohm 1/4 watt resistor . A total of 20 MA to light the dial and meter. The space between the front panel and the chassis here is very small so the tiny LED's are required to do the job . Wiring was done with very thin wire wrap wire and all connections covered with heat shrink tubing. The Led's are fastened in place with a tiny dab of E6000 cement applied with the tip of a tiny screwdriver . This was a rather easy modification and may be easily removed if desired.
