Operational since April 10, the EES (Entry/Exit System) requires biometric registration—photograph and fingerprints—for third-country nationals making a short stay in the Schengen Area, replacing the manual stamping of passports.

According to the magazine "L'Écho Touristique," this new European entry/exit system, the EES, is proving to be a headache for travelers at several European airports.
