This week saw the release of Ghost of Yotei on PS5, a new major release from Sucker Punch! And with it came a big day 1 patch which isnt ideal unfortunately, but at least the game is finally here. We also have a teardown of the new PS5 Slim Digital Edition and yup, Sony is definitely trying to cost down the bill of materials. We finally have matte black plastic on a PlayStation 5! There was also a rumor this week about a new DualSense coming with a removable battery. Is this for EU compliance in 2027? Theres also a rumor that just dropped about Sony beginning to sunset PSN features for developers that are trying to submit PS4 games. So the consoles time is finally upon us, huh? Oh and we cant forget the Halo Remake rumor, EAs going private deal, and Xbox Game Pass prices going up. This week had perhaps the most controversial video game news in 2026 with NVIDIA announces DLSS 5 which applies some questionable AI enhancements to character faces. And during the same week of PSSR 2 being released for PS5 Pro no less! Sonys option so far seems to be impressing much more than the DLSS situation. Elsewhere in the week we had a report that Sony might be walking away from the PSN and PlayStation Network branding. Thats an interesting choice.. Then weve got a new trailer for Saros, Death Stranding 2s PC features, Firewall Ultra getting de-listed, and Starfield finally confirmed for PS5! Theres some sales discussion too.
