At this time of year, the weather can be vastly different between Banff Town, Lake Louise, and the Icefields Parkway.
While some trails such as Big Beehive are accessible just before the snow arrives, it’s important to plan ahead so you’re prepared for all weather conditions.
🥾 - Check the Parks Canada trail condition report before you begin hiking. Here you can see the latest updates such as snow, mud, or ice - and whether the trail is now closed for the season.
❄ - Check the weather forecast before beginning your hike. What may start as a sunny morning, can be completely different by the time you reach your destination so be ready for all conditions.
🧣 - Pack plenty of layers for this time of year. Cold crisp mornings, followed by the chance of cold winds and snow means you should wrap up warm during your adventure.
