Hey everyone! August's hat is here! Inspired by Disney & Pixar's Brave, here is Merida's hat for this month. It includes how to design your hat by weaving in new colors. Items Used:
Clover Bamboo 16" circular needle size 7 (4.5mm) & 9 (5.5mm), also double pointed needles size 9
Caron Simply Soft yarn in Pagoda (4ply medium, 6oz, 315yrds) 1 ball
Yarn Bee Fetching yarn in Citrine (4 ply medium, 3.5oz, 280yrds) 1 ball
Stitch Marker

Size:
19"-22" adult

Gauge:
17 sts - 22 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch with larger needles

Print This Pattern:

Instructions:
With smaller needles, cast on 80sts. Join in the round, place marker.
Rib: *K2, P2; rep from * around.
Work ribbing for 6 rows total.
Keeping our K2, P2 rib, increase 1 st every 8sts, increasing 10 sts evenly through the row - 90 sts.

Switch to larger needles

Body Seed Stitch Pattern:
Rnd 1: *K1, P1; rep from * around.
Rnd 2: *P1, K1; rep from * around.
Repeat Rnds 1 & 2 once more.

Rnd 5: *(K1, P1) rep for 14 sts, (K1, P1, K1) in next st, (P1, K1) rep for 14 sts, (K1, P1, K1) in next st; rep from * around. - 102 sts
Rnd 6: *P1, K1; rep from * around.
Rnd 7: *K1, P1; rep from * around.
Rnd 8: *(P1, K1) rep for 16sts, (K1, P1, K1) in next st, (K1, P1) rep fro 16 sts, (K1, P1, K1) in next st; rep from * around. - 114 sts
Rnd 9: *K1, P1; rep from * around.
Rnd 10: *P1, K1; rep from * around.

Cut yarn. Weave ends and finish.

Now you can embellish your hat with the gold ( or accent color ) and make any design.
