Most people who celebrate this holiday do so on May 1st, however, I usually celebrate on the exact astrological date, which is the midpoint between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. This year, that was May 5th.
On Bealtaine (which is the Irish word for the month of May. It is NOT spelled “Beltane”, which is an English respelling; it is roughly pronounced “byel-tin-uh”, NOT “bel-tayn”), I personally honor the Irish god An Dagda. This is a time, like Samhain, associated with liminal spaces. As such, this holiday is generally connected to the Daoine Maithe (the Irish “Good People” aka fairies), so steps are usually taken around this time to protect ourselves from the Fair Folk.
In this reel, I am meditating, thinking about projects I am working on and hoping to accomplish, and giving thanks to An Dagda for providing me guidance with the card reading I did just before this. At the end of the reel are two pictures of my reading. I used the DruidCraft Tarot, as well as the Kalat Cards.
For authentic Irish Pagan spirituality, I highly recommend the Irish Pagan School!
