This informational delving into Half-Life's sequel chronicles the locations of all of the hidden skulls found within the canals in and outside of City 17.
To address a common question about the significance of these skulls, these chapters feature the only decorative skulls in all of Half-Life 2. They never appear as prop decorations elsewhere in the game. There are no decorative skulls in Episode One, Episode Two, or Lost Coast. As shown in the video at 0:08, the hidden placements of these skulls in Route Kanal and Water Hazard is specifically pointed out in the Prima game guide, meaning someone at Valve intentionally wanted their presence to be known.
