Inverter issue! Problems with our AlphaESS system from Heatable. Secondly, we weren’t able to export very much to the grid when the battery reached 100%.It all got fixed thankfully. Testing my old Nissan LEAFs range in winter. How much difference does heating make? Andrew Till / Mr. EV 2025-01-16 | Before I get the inevitable "THIS IS WHY I'M NOT GETTING AN ELECTRIC CAR" comments, this is an old EV. New EVs have far better range, and are more efficient (especially with a heat pump), than this classic old LEAF.Oh, and looking at the odometer, the route was actually 17 miles in the end. So it didn't do too badly!
No scraping, no warm water on the glass, no exhaust. Remote defrosting in EVs is a wonderful thing! Andrew Till / Mr. EV 2025-01-12 | This is the Kia e-Niro but 99% of EVs have this function. It means you can remote defrost your car (and preheat the cabin of course) wherever you are.Most EVs (if not all) can also be set to do this automatically if plugged-in which is even more comfortable.
