The middle section with the viola solo feels like a stream rushing by as the melody floats above the waves and currents. And the way the melody rises in intensity only to suddenly pull back gives me chills every time!I had a small disaster this week when I started recording this arrangement. My tripod started tipping from a snagged cable and I grabbed the camera as quickly as I could, but the HDMI cable left its header attached to the camera and the wires... weren't. I did my best to modify my workflow and record directly into the camera, but it slowed me down and I lost a few of the video files.I got a replacement cable, so my next video should be back to normal, but I wasn't able to do the giant split screen this time because I didn't have all the video files. Lumière - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 [Violin Cover] Sheas Violin 2025-05-08 | Wow. What a game. I was a little late getting started, but I played through the whole story last week. This song has been stuck in my head the whole time, and I knew I needed to cover it.The story is fantastic, and the gameplay is really fun. And the MUSIC! Lorien Testard did an amazing job with the soundtrack with real strings with real emotion everywhere. Chills.When I started working on this piece, I wanted to put the leads on the cello, but I was having such a difficult time getting the kind of emotion that I wanted into the piece. I'm still practicing and getting more expressive with the cello, but my skill there wasn't quite up to the task this time. Fortunately I have an octave violin that is able to handle the higher register notes of the cello lines with the skill I have on violin! Dedicated to Moonlight 🎻 (FF14) Sheas Violin 2025-03-23 | In the original, it is one half step lower than this, but I'm pretty sure it's actually physically impossible to play that fast a half step down. I had it to about 80% of this speed after four hours of practice and it was just so incredibly awkward that I went back and listened to it really really closely, and I could hear two different timbres for the Eb note, which means some of them were open and some of them were played on the A string, and so I either needed to retune the violin down a step or raise the backing track by a half step, so I did that. After adjusting that and re-learning it, I was able to get it all the way up to 100% of the original tempo!#finalfantasy14 #finalfantasy #violin
