An Editorial Note on This Production: This video features many quotes from Walt Disney and his staff, read in the video by actors. Some of these quotes, said decades later, are placed in the story as if they are being said in the moment. This was done in such a way as to not change the meaning or intention of the original quote, but it does alter the context. In the summer of 1981, a Star Wars-adjacent KIϟϟ-inspired band rocked the Space Stage in Tomorrowland at Disneyland, and that is just the start of the story. Live from the Space Stage: A Halyx Story is a feature documentary on one of the most bizarre and obscure bands ever to perform, and the fascinating story of the people making it happen behind the scenes. The majority of production on the film has been completed, and we are seeking funds to finish production and pay for post.
The Film Live from the Space Stage: A Halyx Story is a documentary about one of Disney’s most fascinating and ridiculous ideas. A rock and roll band full of Star Wars lookalike characters that played underneath Space Mountain at Disneyland for one summer. Through one on one interviews with the band and those working behind the scenes, audiences will learn who this band was and why we have never heard of them until now. Experience the rise and fall of HALYX, complete with never-before-seen photos, concept art, audio, and video recordings.
