When Rennala becomes the INVADER in Elden Ring dangitjm 2023-04-06 | "Thy fate lieth under my moon." - Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon--Invasions took place at RL90, 136, 172, and 200. I don't have the exact numbers for each level range but the point of a Rennala cosplay is this:Don't neglect Vigor. You can get away with 40ish Vigor below RL90 but any higher and you should get at least 50 Vigor. Get at least 70 INT (if you're at lower levels, you can achieve 70 INT with her hat, the Stargazer Heirloom, and finally the +10 INT physick), Then dump the rest of your points into Mind. The higher your level (beyond the 125 meta), cap your INT at 80, get more Vigor and Mind, definitely more Endurance if you can spare to try and light roll with the cosplay, aaaand that's it. This isn't a meta build (yet) so don't expect complete victory, but dang, I personally did not expect as many wins as I got. Elden Ring Patch 1.03 DESYNC Problem (OLD) dangitjm 2022-03-23 | After the recent 1.03 patch, there has been a consistent amount of connection issues in matchmaking. The problem seems to reliably occur if there is co-op and an invading player in the same world. What happens is every player that isn't the Host of Fingers receives a message that the opposing party has "returned to their world" and said players disappear completely. For instance: an invader will no longer be able to see the furled finger co-operators and the co-operators can't see the invader. To the host, however, both the invaders and co-operators are still visible. The host can still be harmed by the invader at this point. Co-operators can still attack the PvE of the world, like AI mobs and the like, but the co-operators can do nothing to stop the invader, they can't even interact or hurt the invader. At the same time, the invader can't see or interact with the co-operators and will most likely just rush down the helpless host.I'm not entirely sure what is causing this, but this is a step above the Miyazaki Shuffle of Dark Souls 3. [Outdated] Downscaling Returns in Elden Ring (Closed Network Test) dangitjm 2021-11-19 | EDIT: As of Patch 1.07 (October 2022), overleveled phantoms still do not seemed to be downscaled properly. We do have hope, however! From Soft has been adding PvP-specific scaling. If they were to nerf Overleveled phantoms damage in PvP but left their PvE damage alone, this is the closest to a sound compromise that I would get behind.I (Level 21) lost half of my HP, FP, Stamina, Flat Defenses, Resistances, and a considerable amount of AR when being summoned via Password to a Friend's (Level 5) world.I. Am. Excited. For this change. As both an occasional co-oper and a frequent invader.We have to reiterate that this could change for the full release. Let's not be too sure about how this will all play out...HOWEVER--considering that quite a few DS3 glitches have been found in Elden Ring--we need to make sure that the Unscaled glitch which overrode the downscaling in DS3 does not persist to Elden Ring. While I didn't test for certain that the glitch is still present, it wouldn't hurt to give feedback where it's needed. On Elden Rings Network Test, Future Fixes, and Hope dangitjm 2021-11-17 | TL;DWSo far, so good. GOTY material, assuming the quality previewed from the test either remains consistent throughout the rest of the game or gets even better. Things are looking up for the singleplayer! This means that solo hosts might not be able to be invaded unless they have summoned help, from AI summons or other online players. While I think this is a decent idea, there is one important caveat for From Software to consider. Give Solo Hosts an opt-in of some kind, be it an item, covenant, or menu setting for them to be invaded regardless of co-operation or not."Invaders will never invade a mounted player because players cannot be mounted in cooperative play.
