updated
NHTSA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) Side Pole Impact:
A small-sized adult female crash test dummy is placed in the driver's seat and is secured with a seat belt. The test vehicle, angled at 75 degrees, is then pulled sideways at 20 mph (32km/h) into a 25-cm diameter pole at the driver's seating location. This test mimics a side impact crash involving a narrow, fixed object like a utility pole or tree. 1 star is the lowest rating; 5 stars is the highest. More stars equal safer cars.

The car achieves the lowest probability of injury of any vehicle ever tested by NHTSA.
NHTSA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) Frontal Impact:
The frontal crash test evaluates injury to the head, neck, chest, and legs of the driver and front seat passenger. Crash test dummies representing an average-sized adult male and a small-sized adult female are placed in the driver and front passenger seats, respectively, and are secured with seat belts. Vehicles are crashed into a fixed barrier at 35 mph (56.3km/h), which is equivalent to a head-on collision between two similar vehicles each moving at 35 mph. 1 star is the lowest rating; 5 stars is the highest. The fourth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is a mid-size crossover SUV first introduced for the 2011 model year.
The steel unibody design is all new and has undergone testing for aerodynamic efficiency while improving ruggedness with more than 5,400 welds in the body alone. This results in a 146% increase in torsional rigidity compared to the previous design. This improves durability and reduces noise, vibration, and harshness.
The new WK2 also features four-wheel independent suspension for better on-road handling. The Grand Cherokee (with the 2011 Durango) WK2 platform uses a derivative based on Mercedes-Benz's W166 series. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Grand_Cherokee_(WK2))

The test consisted of an Oblique Moving Deformable Barrier (OMDB) traveling at a target speed of 90 km/h into a stationary 2017 Honda Ridgeline. The struck vehicle was positioned 15° relative to the moving barrier which impacted 35% of the left side of the vehicle. A half face honeycomb barrier was mounted on the left side of the OMDB. The test vehicle's mass was 2258 kg (4978 lbs), and the RMDB's mass was 2491 kg (5491 lbs).
Structure observations include the following:
- Cracked windshield.
- The left front wheel was pushed into the A-Pillar.
- Hood bent inwards and the left front corner of the vehicle was damaged exposing part of the engine compartment.

NHTSA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) Side Moving Deformable Barrier Impact:
Crash test dummies representing an average-sized adult male and a small-sized adult female are placed in the driver and rear passenger seats (driver's side), respectively, and are secured with seat belts. The side crash rating represents an intersection-type collision by having a 3,015 pound (1367kg) barrier moving at 38.5 mph (62km/h) into a standing vehicle. The moving barrier is covered with material that is crushable to replicate the front of a vehicle. 1 star is the lowest rating; 5 stars is the highest. More stars equal safer cars.

The 2018 model year Mustang was released in the third quarter of 2017 in North America and by 2018 globally. It featured a minor redesign to the exterior. The 2018 Mustang engine line up was revised. The 3.7L V6 was dropped and the 2.3L 4 cyl. Ecoboost (direct-injection turbocharged) engine now serves as the base power plant for the Mustang, producing 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque when using 93-octane fuel. The 5.0L V8 gets a power increase to 460HP and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. The automatic transmission in both engines is now a ten-speed that was co-developed by Ford and General Motors. In January 2018, Ford displayed a prototype of the special edition 2018 Bullit model, to be released in the summer; this vehicle commemorated the 50th anniversary of the movie Bullit that helped attract interest in the marque. The moving barrier is covered with material that is crushable to replicate the front of a vehicle. 1 star is the lowest rating; 5 stars is the highest. More stars equal safer cars.

More stars equal safer cars.
