I hope you'll agree, she did an amazing job!

Do you want to be part of
a David Bruce premiere?
‘Forgotten Boots’
was originally a movement
from my clarinet quintet ‘Gumboots’
(performed at the start of this video by Todd Palmer
& the St Lawrence String Quartet) I removed it from Gumboots
(much to annoyance of violinist Geoff Nuttall who said it was his favourite movement!) because I felt it didn’t work
in the context of the larger piece
- but I still like it as
a little dance in its own right.
I’ve made a couple of new versions
of it, but one - for clarinet and piano -
has never been performed. It's a fun piece, only 2 minutes long, and would probably be a good concert 'encore'. I got my friend and
piano legend, Sequoia
to play the piano part
(see 1:00 )
Links to the clarinet part
and Sequoia’s audio are below. Now is your chance
to be a part of the ‘premiere’ -
if you’d like to have a go,
I’d love to see your version,
playing along to Sequoia’s
audio.
Please email audio and video
of your performance to davidbrucescores@gmail.com
