Shantae and the Pirates Curse [PC Game] - 100% Playthrough
updated
Very very short Episode of where it's about saving Luigi... maybe.
Kyasarin having their own adventure this time instead of the usual... and there is another invasion? Quite a treat to go for.
In TheXTech, there is also a dragon coin counter that also conveniently shows upon standing on a level on the world map that has them, sadly though, there is one level that is physically impossible to get all five of them. One section is impossible to enter due to being a warp entrance instead of the player entrance, while the other isn't even visible beneath the very slow moving layer due to being placed off the section. Thankfully though, they aren't required to get 100% within the episodes!

Getting more darker in here... and more confusing at times too...
Originally, this boss was more like a coin collection boss, there would be 3 phases and the player has to collect all the coins in order to beat these phases and the boss itself at the last phase while dodging projectiles and riding on platforms, but it wasn't truly how the original boss from Rosenkreuzstilette was supposed to be, so it got an overhaul. Here, the player has to throw the bombs at the boss where it goes along on railings which changes when hitting the floor and ceiling, while dodging him and the falling stomped rexes and projectiles. It also has a desperation mode where more projectiles will appear when hitting the boss often enough, after the boss is defeated it ends like usual but with an added effect where the boss is beaten.
This covers both the normal mode and hard mode for this boss.

A spiritual successor to The Invasion 2, now with much more flair and sprinkles around the world of this episode. Star Coins are an actual currency to use on the World Map, and more unlisted...

The final world awaits here, full of lava, traps, and others to slow the main hero down... but we will reach towards the end eventually of this unknown travel here!
Slight issues here and there though ...but overall a fairly fun episode to play with variety of gimmicks that makes each level unique in it's own ways, not super long, but also not too short either.

A full remake of the original Mario & Luigi MS-DOS Game but into SMBX. Surely the physics is different too in that regard.
Now what do we have here? Super Mario Bros. X but in... widescreen?!? Yes, this exists!
Introduction to TheXTech:
"TheXTech is a free and open-source game engine for Mario-like platforming games. There is a complete and extended source code port of the Super Mario Bros. X 1.3 game engine (later just "SMBX"), and its direct unofficial continuation after development halted in the 2011th year. This engine preserves full compatibility with levels and episodes made for the original SMBX game, including its repacks. It's also allowed to create brand-new levels, episodes, and content packs. Unlike the original SMBX game that depends on Windows and x86, TheXTech can work on many operating systems (including Linux distros, macOS, xBSD, Android, Haiku, etc.) and processor architectures (including x86_64, ARM, PowerPC, MIPS, etc.)."

Retro, like 8-bit, seems very promising... with some very weird choices this episode made, like warp points with dedicated goals for some reason? Also that a couple levels just won't work?!?
It has potential, but it can't really be fully completed, unfortunately.

Episode's plot:
"Peach isn't kidnapped, but the Koopalings attacked the 7 kingdoms and stole their wands! it's up to the Mario brothers, and Toad, to save the day!"
Or so we thought...
Another classical SMBX episode, of where it focuses on the game Super Mario Allstars - Super Mario Bros. 3, with even Super Mario Advance 4 Elements in it as well.

Things get very icy here in World 5, where also more complicated puzzles are up ahead as well... unfortunately, one secret exit in this world doesn't exist despite in one of the levels having a secret exit to begin with, this shows that in the past there used to be a secret exit during the making inside the world map but was ultimately removed upon release.

Not by a whole lot but even for being a couple of power-ups and like two carryable items, it's a fine amount for a Mario Forever esque game right there... and yes, Poison Mushrooms apparently count as power-ups too even though they're the opposite.

Into the forest area we go in World 4, which oddly is marked as the 5th according to the sign on this world, this suggests that this was originally World 5 but before the Episode's initial release the original World 3, the underground world, was scrapped entirely. In this world we traverse through woods, caves, and even water, there's that fortress that uses spin jumping a lot too!

World 3, Water area... unfortunately, Neon Ocean Level has a bad design flaw, which is, that the hurtable blocks not only the entire ceiling has been covered with but also the entire floor too... making this one spot where you need to swim close to the off-screen section below virtually impossible when having only one power up. Do yourself a favor and remove those hurtable blocks inside the editor program to prevent needing to have 2 power-ups in there just to progress.

Story:
After falling into a mysterious hole, Mario/Luigi finds himself in an abandoned cursed temple, the Temple of Eternal Chaos. There are doors all around the temple, inside each door is a different realm.
This Episode was made during the long drought period when SMBX stopped updating for a long while. It was certainly an alright episode, however, some aspects of its design are questionable unfortunately, like needing to take a hit to continue and other enemy placements that feel unfair to the player, and then other aspects where you need a strong power-up to get a star that is required to progress, which would mean backtracking to a different level to find that specific power-up, keep the power-up and then go back to that level with said power-up to obtain the secret star. Thankfully, the Episode isn't all too long but it's still worth noting that some of its design choices haven't really aged that well.

It seems to be a common theme to have cat after cat here, but this is definitely an improvement of the Mario Editor one, even if this world is whackier than usual.

This cute little puzzle game aims to get 3 or more of the same colored cats together, remove them from the board, and prevent the cats from hitting the ceiling. Otherwise, it's game over. The goal is to get 100 cats (or more if hitting the block message box beforehand) to beat it.

Very short, although definitely possible to add multiple sections so you have a full Cat Mario game into one level in Mario Editor. Oh well.

In the earlier version, this conspicuous frame inside the Polygonal Chaos section led to an area which is called the Wonderland Woods, having a dark blue backdrop and a large area to traverse through. Sadly, this area doesn't have an exit, nor can the player exit through fast traveling when pausing the game, in which there is a dark shadowy figure chasing the player down when not being stuck behind trees, crashing the game upon touching it.
However, in the unabandoned version, this place is dark and also has red coins to collect around the area, while the shadowy figure is still here to cause the player to run away from them constantly. Fast traveling is still disabled here. In this version, instead of crashing the game, touching the shadowy figure kills the player on contact. After collecting the 8 red coins here, a red star appears.
Watch out when approaching any trees here, as the bottom can slide the player off and lose too much time, possibly getting pursued by the shadowy figure. The good thing is, that there is a possibility of making the shadowy figure get stuck behind a tree when done right, however, walking too far away sideways from where they are stuck and then they are free again. Also, it is possible to get killed after obtaining the red star when they touch you during the get star scene, as shown at the end of the video.

Nothing needs to be strictly followed like this one right here. At the end of the day, you are free to make any levels however you like. This is for fun and entertainment purposes only!
Also, remember that once motivation or ideas are running out, always catch some breath of fresh air, or watch and/or play other made episodes/levels/games or the official Mario levels/games by Nintendo to catch more ideas for your own levels, games, or episodes to go by.

Bubble Bobble in Mario Editor, well, it seems like a nice one-room-based level to see how far we can go with checkpoints along the way after each world we go through, however, this one Mushroom is unable to be picked up because while ducking, it's impossible to pick it up (Mario Editor sadly doesn't work like that).

A recreation from Super Mario World into a fangame called SMBX? That sounds like a neat idea to do, especially since after SMBX2 beta 4 it got a lot of features added, it would definitely have an extreme possibility to have here... unfortunately, not everything is fully recreated here, like some sections of the levels... seems to be oddly missing from the original SMW game or some functions like the expanded and shrinking turn blocks just aren't moving at all, instead they are stationary that you can interact and break. Still, though, effort is appreciated!
