Rolling shutter artifacts - Shutter speed test Kenneth Lu 2012-02-02 | Bombardier Q400 propeller while cruising as seen through a Canon 5D Mk II while varying the shutter speed from 1/30 sec to 1/4000 sec and back. (Interesting to note that, even at the low shutter speed end, there are resonance artifacts at most speeds, but not so much at 1/40 sec and 1/80 sec. I'm guessing the rotation speed is a roughly a multiple of 15 but not 2?)

Automatic airplane portal shades on an Emirates 777 Kenneth Lu 2011-07-27 | There are two layers of shading, and one button press opens or closes them all the way! You can also hold the button to manually control where it stops. The one downside is that you can't just crack it open a little to look out, because you have to raise the opaque shade all the way before you can crack open the translucent shade.

It was just like those halls of mirrors you so frequently saw villains force heroes through in old adventure movies.
