Feeding our new ball python, Erebus. He is a Honey morph who is het for Red Axanthic. We picked him up from Outback Reptiles, and he is a feisty little guy. He made the switch to frozen/thawed rats from live mice very easily.
Filmed using my iPhone 6, so sorry for the shaky footage.

Nice calm day, that was slightly overcast, made for a smooth flight out to the Roundout Lighthouse. The fish and birds were very active which made for a few nice shots which unfortunately did not turn out well. There was a nice couple who stopped and seemed to be very interested in the Mavic, and I tried to inform them about it the best I could. Any time I can squash the negative stigmas of this hobby I try to.
Filmed in 4k 30 FPS, compressed to 1080p, as my computer cannot handle processing 4k videos. Also filmed in D-log, using the Polar Pro Aurora LUTS to finish it out.

This is a video to show the different LUT files that you get with Polar Pro's Aurora package for the DJI Mavic Pro. I filmed the original clip in 4K using Polar Pro's Cinematic Series ND-16 filters. White balance was set to sunny, and all other settings were on auto. I compressed the video down to 1080p to help with size and editing. Just a quick comparison, to help you decide which is best.

I had just received the PolarPro Cinema Series ND Filters for the DJI Mavic Pro, and I cold but sunny morning happened to come by as well. The Cinema Series differs from the original PolarPro in that it is made of lightweight aluminum and can be applied before turning the Mavic on, similar to the Taco-RC filters I showed in a previous video. The bonus feature to these are that they are a ND Filter and a Polarizer combined, so you get the best of both worlds.
My fingers were frozen after this flight, 19 degrees and a nice steady breeze coming off the water, but I am very impressed with these filters so far.

It finally was a beautiful day out, and I had a few minutes to spare to stretch out the Mavic's legs. I had downgraded the firmware the other day to try and fix some camera issues, and attached the Taco-RC ND16 filter to the lens. I flew out about 2500 feet before turning around, and saw very little to no camera issues like I had on the last flight.

*Update* Polar Pro has since launched the Cinema Series which can be left on the Mavic Pro at all times.
We had a snow storm which made it impossible to fly, so why not compare two brands of ND Filters for the DJI Mavic Pro. I purchased both of these so my opinion is not going to be skewed. I am sorry for the poor focus during the video review, I'm still learning how to us Final Cut Pro X.
Polar Pro - Comes with a nice case and cleaning cloth, however the drone must be on in order to install the filter or else you will get a gimbal overload error. So anytime you have to change a battery, you have to remove and replace the filter. This can cause a lot of unneeded strain on the gimbal motors.
Taco-RC - Only has ND filters in the set I purchased, but they have a small enough profile and light enough weight that they do not interfere with the gimbal calibration. You can keep these on if you are changing out batteries during a session.
After a mixture of snow, rain and wind knocked out the power to my neighborhood, I started the generator and took to the skies with the DJI Mavic Pro to see what was happening. There were some pretty strong gusts while flying and the temperature was just about at the freezing mark, but the drone flew extremely well and the video was smooth as can be.
If this was my Phantom 3 Standard it would have been blown all over up there, but this little guy is a tank.

Daytime video trying out the new Cinematic mode on the DJI Go 4.0 app. Flying into the sun caused some serious rolling shutter issues, which disappeared when I was flying with the sun to the rear. I'm going to be looking into getting some ND filters to try and fix this and the overexposure issues.
I ordered the Mavic on September 28 and finally received it today. By the time the firmware was finished updating almost all of the light outside was gone, but I still had to quickly try it out. This is just a quick flight to see how well it handled and get a little video. More to come in the next few days when I can fly it during the daylight hours.

My first flight in a long while. I went to the banks of the Hudson River, very early to catch the sunrise. Upon getting there, I found out that I had forgotten to charge my batteries the night before, so I had about 60% charge on each one. So much for the epic video I had envisioned. I made do with what I could get, and am pretty happy with the way it turned out.
The countdown is on to the DJI Mavic Pro. I preordered it as soon as it was available, and am impatiently waiting for the delivery. I will try to get a couple more Phantom videos made before the Mavic arrives.

A quick flight I did while hiking up to the Saugerties Lighthouse. I was unaware that I needed to call and get permission from the light house to film it, so I was only able to get some shots that I got before getting to the lighthouse.
This is also my first attempt to play with Final Cut Pro X for video editing.
