Took a while to get this first single out, but hopefully it was worth it! I've been working on a little Halloween project this year titled "The Twist At The End - EP" releasing next Friday the 28th of October! After all this time, we're back in the familiar territory of the Bleeding Sun story. Functioning as a spiritual successor and distant prequel to Godhunter, "My Church" takes a look at the rise of a charming southern cult leader who starts with a small following and slowly corrupts and entrances them with promises of salvation in the end times. Obsessed with his visions of the future and dreams of ruling the ashes after a coming war, no cost is too great to build The Elder's promised congregation.

Wow, if there's ever been an exception to the rule that video game adaptations have to be terrible, it's Arcane. This show has perhaps become my favorite of all time, and I was greatly inspired to write a song about Jinx and her charmingly edgy state of mind. I've been wanting to make a song about Helluva Boss for a while now, and doing an album about monsters seemed like as good an excuse as any. The biggest reason though is that it's currently one of my favorite shows of all time, and I simply can't get enough. One of my favorite dynamics in the dysfunctional world of the show is the afterlife marriage of Millie and Moxxie, which inspired this particular song. It ponders Moxxie's perspective as a clumsy and conflicted demon, appreciating his deadly partner in sin.

This latest album gave me a chance to do some new things, so I got decided to try a funky synthpop style when I found some inspiration while watching Beastars. The song is a struggle of desire for Legoshi the wolf, who lives in a civil society experiencing the local dating scene while also hiding his instinctual carnivorous desires. Finally, a chance to give tribute to the reluctant hero that started it all. Conflicted and cursed, the black swordsman laments the betrayal of Griffith, a newborn demigod who was once his loyal friend. Happy Halloween! The holiday always seems especially important on this channel where so many of the songs bring in our favorite monsters, demons, and various supernatural happenings. In the case of "Haunting Kind of High", a story is told of a hopelessly addicted man that has tried every drug in search of a feeling he can't seem to find. In his desperation for further bliss, he begins to strike deals with demons to satiate himself with the power of their blood and soon the otherworldly forces in his veins consume him. Musically, this one treads in some weird territory, but it was a lot of fun!

What a weird game this one is, yet I found myself extremely immersed and dove in to Risk of Rain 2's hellish planet for dozens of hours. It doesn't have a traditional story to play through, but instead every time you die you're back to the start and your journey will never be the same. Along this repeating experience of death the world and its origin are carefully revealed, all while increasing the dread that survival is only for the moment. "We Evolve" was born of that desperation, and the thrilling feeling of staying alive against the impossible.

Back to Dreams of the Deep for a moment before we move on to new content! There's a still a few I haven't shared on the channel yet and this one definitely needed the YouTube treatment. "Can You Hear It" describes a rather rapid onset of insanity from the faint scratches in the walls and the dark history of a new heir's ancestral home. Based heavily on H.P. At long last, and after a couple little delays, Dreams of the Deep is finished! The album takes inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft stories and many other sources, and puts it all together for a wild journey into madness. The title track itself is a tribute to "The Call of Cthulhu" and its surrounding mythos. The track embodies a slow discovery of a terrifying reality and coming doom, and the following journey by ship into the ocean to find answers.

A hunter's work is never done.

Returning to the dark streets of Bloodborne, my new single "Outside" captures the tragic plight of Gilbert, the man in the window. Isolated in his room due to his sickness, he slowly feels his body transforming and his mind becoming weak. In his last days, a lone hunter arrives at his window to give him hope that maybe at last the nightmare will end.

Let's rewind a bit, shall we? "The Red Hood" is a track from last year's "Masks" release, and since it never got a proper video done I figure now is the time! The song is about Slave Knight Gael from The Ringed City DLC of Dark Souls 3. From his own perspective, it details his struggles to reach the end of the world in search for power and purpose. In the game, he's really no different than the player... But he found the Dark Soul first.

We're back! After 7 years since our last collaboration @Nirre and I have come to present another song, this time with a cyberpunk twist. Cities in the Distance is about hope in the confines of one of Earth's last cities, where life seems so bleak and unchanging. The song dreams of the cities some say lie outside the known places, where freedom lies and escape can be found. Sainthood and Sanctuary is a sorrowful song of betrayal and the extreme measures one would take just for the promise of safety. In the year 2220, the song's narrator has given into the false promises of his city's ruling cult in the hopes of finding safety in their temple. Instead of salvation, he finds himself trapped and constantly spied upon as his desire for safety in righteousness leaves him alone once again. Musically, this one is a weird rock/acoustic/alternative fusion that ends up being kind of an experiment in strange 3/4 drum lines. It's dark, yet soft, and serves to hint towards the more unique styles to come in the rest of the album.

The eve of All Hallows has arrived and I'm back so soon to share another scary tale from the new MASKS EP! This track, as the closer of Masks, tells the story of Father John Ward who lost his mind after a failed exorcism and returned to the possessed girl he couldn't save to put an end to the devil inside her. He searches deep in the woods of Connecticut for her abandoned home but finds other forsaken creatures lurking as well... Is his faith misplaced, he asks, or will his prayers deliver him in his encounter with true evil? Musically this song took a very odd turn especially after a mostly heavy EP, but I felt like trying something new and running with the "dark gospel" kind of sound. My friend Matrix has supplied some amazing graphical expertise for the unique video needs of this song, so big thank you to him for the... er... "faithful" look of the video.

"Song of the Abyss" is a tragic tale of loyalty and inevitable defeat, following the story of Knight Artorias and his great wolf Sif. Once the greatest warrior in the known world, Artorias fails his final mission to stop the spread of the Abyss, falling to its influence and leaving his wolf safely behind under his enchanted shield. Of course we, the player, later find Sif and carry on the legacy of the Wolf Knight despite his defeat.

They'll Never Find Us is the alternate ending of the Aeterno story, where instead of completing his assigned task of repairing the course of time, our hero ends his journey through the ages prematurely. He rescues the lost love of his own past instead, whisking her away to a period of history where no one would ever be able to find them. Too Late for a Savior is an experimental song musically, lacking a true chorus and shedding a usual song structure to express a slow, methodical descent into madness. The Elder of the Godhunter saga sought power through eldritch worship of the cosmos, and as his efforts proved useless but his following grew, he pursued darker means of seeking immortality. As he searched he neglected his people, and the deaths grew quickly. It's too late for redemption, he claims, so he will stoop to any means to save himself.

Nioh left me feeling inspired, as with most games of its kind, and I felt compelled to write something with the victorious yet futile story it told. A warrior from England travels to war-torn Japan in an age of demons and beasts, and this song tells of his undying pursuit for his guardian spirit and his embrace of the way of the samurai.

At last, after being inspired by Dark Souls 1 and 3, Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, Dark Souls 2 gave me a story with more emotional impact than I expected. Within the expansion "Crown of the Ivory King" lies a story of love and sacrifice, telling the tale of The Ivory King's plunge into the depths of chaos to save his dear Queen Alsanna and the rest of the world. Years later, his soul remains in torment without rest, reliving the pain of leaving his love until someone comes to take his soul.

Also, outside of the really bittersweet lore, I got to know The King very well in this area of the game, because it is really, REALLY hard. I think I'll leave him and his queen alone from now on.

Time for a sunbro song! This is a reflective anthem of fellowship, inspired by Solaire, the most loyal knight of them all. The Warriors of Sunlight are a bastion of friendship in the bleak world of Dark Souls, and I was inspired by the jolly co-operation and uplifting aid that they bring to the game. This song is less about the death and destruction of old lands, but instead about the ability to overcome impossible odds and fight to the very end with the help of friends. For this track, I reached out to my patrons and Discord server members to help me out with backing vocals! There are over 70 people singing with me on the chorus, joining in on the anthem much like they did for "Dystopian Fiction." "Paralyzed" is dance-infused rock song making for one of the more intense moments on my most recent album, "Let There Be Fire." Lectro Dub came on board and took it even further with his gritty, visceral vocals and lyrics! The lyrics portray a fantasy hunter and a cold-hearted monster locked in combat, both on their best game and enthralled with a skilled battle. Instead of the usual monster hunter's perspective though, this song is held mostly in the eyes of the monster itself. Playfully deadly and intelligent, the war has come to the lair of this beast and it has been preparing.

Let There Be Fire is a SoulsBorne inspired album after all, so I looked to Bloodborne once again for inspiration. This time, as a spiritual successor to "No One Will Save You," I've told another sad tale of unfortunate encounters with a higher power. Long ago, an unnamed fisherman hears voices beneath the waves and wanders from his decrepit village out into the Deep, to find ascension in death and to have audience with the mother of the ocean. "When Our Bodies Wash Ashore" is a Lovecraftian tale of madness and unholy infatuation with the deep wonders below.

It's also very nearly a 10 minute song, so I may have gone a little mad myself.
