It was a test to see if I could use my vinyl cutter to cut some 1.2mm thick veg tan leather. I also cut out a thin strap and stitched that on as a dual pen/pencil holder while in the workshop. I've wanted a copper ring for a while but couldn't decide whether I wanted the copper on the inside or the outside. So I decided to make one of each and then decide. I'm using standing copper piping that is used commonly in the UK in plumbing. It's sort of cheating but made like a lot easier not to do any soldering. I am also using a Rosewood veneer wood that is left over from my Curved Laptop Stand. I changed my mind on the design half way through, originally the copper was only going to be a small plate, around 4cm, but decided to make it almost the full length.
