Ash and walnut Night Stands HomeMade in Lviv 2023-09-24 | In this video, I'm demonstrating the process of making two night stands. I had some cross-cut walnut pieces that I had properly dried in advance, so I decided to use them for my next project. For the frame, I opted to use ash scraps. Ash is a light-colored wood and should nicely contrast with the dark walnut. I plan to gift these night stands to my sister, Christina, who lives abroad with her husband. Her part of the house in Ukraine is still not well furnished, so I decided to help her set up her bedroom a bit. We cherish moments spent with loved ones, especially now, during these times of war! So, let's appreciate our family and friends while we still have the chance!The result of my work was appreciated by my children, and I hope the recipients will also like it! Coffee Table Made from Wooden Scrap HomeMade in Lviv 2023-08-20 | In this video, I demonstrate the process of creating an oak coffee table using scraps from oak planks. During work, there are always wood remnants accumulating, which it's a shame to throw away or burn, so I periodically try to recycle them. That's how it happened with this project. I had leftover pieces of oak planks, and additionally, my friend gave me scraps of oak board that were left after cutting on a CNC machine. I decided to repurpose all of them and free up space in my workshop. This was also a spontaneous project, and the design was developed as always during the work process.Today, in Ukraine, those of us who are not directly involved in defending the country - consistently support our army. Such projects temporary allow to distract ourselves from the horrors of war, that has other wise has a traumatic effect on our daily lifes. Oak bookshelves with inlay HomeMade in Lviv 2023-07-23 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making an oak bookshelf for my son's room. Children grow quickly and the number of their things is constantly increasing. Therefore, there was a need to create something additional for storing such things.For this project, I decided to use scraps of oak planks and other oak remnants that had traces of visible defects that skilled carpenters do not use. However, I don't consider myself that way, so I decided to give these materials a second chance and to become useful for people. I filled all the cracks with epoxy resin and also used cross-sections of dry oak branches, recently gifted to me, as decor.I also decided to add a small drawer, children love to collect small things and this drawer will be a convenient place to store them at a certain stage in their lives. I sincerely hope that this piece of furniture will serve my children and decorate their home for a long time.It was a spontaneous project and a spontaneous performance. Children grow quickly, so I often have the need to choose the right chair for their entertainment. Therefore, I decided to experiment and make a such chair. In my previous project, I made accessories for cutting wooden threads, so I decided to use that and make this chair entirely from wood and not use any metal elements and fasteners.I understand that sometimes even adults will want to sit on it, so I tried to make this chair as strong as possible.Today, the people of Ukraine have been resisting the Russian invasion for a year and half; defending their independence. The number of war crimes committed by the Russian occupiers on the territory of Ukraine is increasing every day. Making of accessories for cutting wooden threads HomeMade in Lviv 2023-05-20 | In this video, I demonstrate the process of making jigs for cutting wooden threads.I've often wanted to make wooden threads, and even looked online for the necessary tool for cutting, but the price of the large diameter threads cutters is unreasonably high, so I put it off until I received the 50 mm metal bolt with a nut for free. I thought that a wooden threads such diameter would be strong enough to use in my future projects. So I decided to give it a try.This time the outcome of all my effors was designed in the form of two oak and one ash bolts with 4 nuts. Oak cabinet with lattice doors HomeMade in Lviv 2023-04-23 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making an oak cabinet for my friend and at the same time the godfather of my younger son David. I have long offered making something like this for his home to commemorate our friendship. Although I think this cabinet will serve more than one of his generations. All the material for making this locker was provided to me, only the idea and execution was mine. I think this cabinet will fit nicely into the interior of his living room or bedroom if he will be able to carry it up the narrow stairs to the 2nd floor. But, everything is in his hands, carring heavy bulky things up narrow stairs can become a real quest.Not sure if he will read this video description but next weekend I plan to venture to visit him with my whole family and deliver the gift. Today, this is a risk, as he lives close to the border with Belarus, which is Russia's aid in its aggression against Ukraine, and from where, as you all know, we expect an invasion at any moment. Carved chest of drawers HomeMade in Lviv 2023-02-19 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making a chest of drawers.I've had the idea of making such piece of furniture for a long time but only dared to give it a go now.I made the top from a rotten part of an old oak board that would otherwise have been burned in the fireplace. However, the epoxy resin soaked everything, fastened it and gave this wood a second life.I decided to make the drawers from ash. It is lighter in color, and the wood is strong and hard, hence the carving process took a long time. The outcome was definitely worth the effort. Wooden spoons with inlay for Christmas Eve HomeMade in Lviv 2023-01-07 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making four wooden spoons with inlay for Christmas Eve.Christmas has always been an extremely important holiday for all Ukrainians.On Christmas Eve, 12 fasting dishes are prepared and the whole family gathers at the table in the parents' house. And the main and most important dish of Christmas Eve is kutya. Kutya is prepared from boiled wheat and generously seasoned with honey, poppy seeds, nuts and dried fruits. I made these spoons specifically for spreading the kutya. My parents told me once that they want to replace their old chipboard bed, which has already started to fall apart. I promised that I would make something stronger for them. My parents chose a comfortable mattress for each of them, and I based my work around the mattress sizes. It was a difficult and long project for me, as I did not have the drawings, but I wanted to make something functional, and would last a long time. Hardwood TV stand HomeMade in Lviv 2022-09-09 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making a TV-stand for my bedroom with storage space for bedding. The frame is completely made of ash, I also managed to use a lot of leftover recycled ash boards that I found at home, it can be easily recognized as the recycled wood is darker.This time I also decided to experiment and make a sliding door that moves along a curve and thus leaves room for a central decorative element. I have never tested this sliding door system, so until the end I was not sure that everything would work, but as you can see from the video, everything worked out and the system withstood the test of my small children.I decided to repeat the design of the doors as in the cabinet that I made a little earlier, since these pieces of furniture will stand together.During the filming, my children found a praying mantis, which is a rather rare insect in our region. This is the first time I saw it live. Ecology is changing and this is the result.In this project I also decided to use an old oak log as a decorative element. Large folding table HomeMade in Lviv 2022-05-21 | In this video, I demonstrate the process of making a large table for my gazebo. I already made one table (Reclaimed Wood Table) for this purpose, using technique demonstrated by Jimmy Diresta in one of his videos. By the way, 6 years ago his video works inspired me to create my own projects. I am sincerely grateful to him for that. However, my earlier Reclaimed Wood Table was very massive and inconvenient, so I offered it to my friends and decided to create something more practical. The new table had to be large, mobile, not take too much space and be collapsible. I work without drawings, guided only by the imagination and the amount of available materials and the same way this time round - everything was created in the process of making. Arrangement of Dust Extraction System in the workshop HomeMade in Lviv 2022-04-22 | In this video I show the process of setting up my workshop with a dust extraction system. In my workshop I used chip and dust extraction unit from Metabo, which is a budget mobile model SPA 1200. But it also removes a lot of dust from the dust bag. So I decided to arrange for it a stationary place and adjust the system of branches to my needs. If necessary, I will set up additional connections. I made an airtight cabinet earlier. It was made from old steel angles and pieces of OSB I found at home. Wall clock HomeMade in Lviv 2022-02-06 | In this video, I demonstrate the process of making a large wall clock.While visiting my good friend, former bank colleague and at the same time the godfather of my little son David over New Year holidays, I noticed that this interior item would suit his living room. Due to quarantine, I postponed this trip to another city for a long time and I am glad that our families could spend a few wonderful days together.For the base of the watch I chose a piece of an old oak board. I'm glad that there is an epoxy resin that is able to soak and bond it all well, although I struggled with air bubbles for a long time. For marking, I used a rotary table for the milling machine and the milling machine itself for milling. For me, this is a new experience as I used processes I had never worked with: working with the rotary table, experimenting with white pigment and oak and epoxy polishing.I hope my friend will like my gift, which his three-year-old godson also contributed by inserting the hands of the clock. Ash and Walnut step stool HomeMade in Lviv 2022-01-09 | In this video, I demonstrate the process of making a step stool. A few years ago, I made a similar stool for my little daughter. However, I now have two kids and it's become difficult for them to share, so I decided to make another stool which they could sit on and play board games together.For the top of the stool, I used cross-sections of walnut branches and drilled many holes to bypass the bark to give the epoxy something to bind too. I used a piece of ash board for the frame. I decorated it with carvings.The construction turned out not heavy, stable and strong. Workshop stove build HomeMade in Lviv 2021-12-22 | In this video, I demonstrate the process of making a stove to heat my garage and at the same time the workshop in the winter. All these years I heated my garage with electric heaters, but together with power tools, they constantly overload my electrical system. So I finally decided to arrange for a proper place for the heating, especially since I have enough of wood waste. I understand that playing with fire is bad, so I tried to do everything properly and safely, especially with curious young children around.For the body of the stove, I used the remains of a water boiler, left over from my previous project "Two BBQs made from old water boilers". I also decided to use the remnants of refractory bricks from the old stoves that my grandparents once used.It was another challenge and experiment for me. I am happy with the outcome, stove works propety. The cold prevented me from working with wood in wintery conditions. Picturesque Cabinet made from recycled materials HomeMade in Lviv 2021-12-05 | While helping to renovate my parents' house, I kept some old ash boards, such as old window sills, thresholds, and some railings. I tried to rework all this material and create something interesting. I always wanted to use hexagons in my design, and wooden bark, so I took a chance and experimented.As a result of my efforts, this cabinet is made entirely of recycled ash boards.In this project I tried to show that even old materials are suitable for creating new, in my opinion, expensive things.This time I also tried not to use any nails, screws or pins.Maybe this cabinet will find a place in my son's or daughter's room, and I hope it will bring them only positive emotions.It was a lengthy project, but the cost of effort and time is rewarded by the result. I am a financier by education, with 15 years of experience in the field of banking analytics and retail banking. I am often asked what is Lviv. Lviv is the largest city in western Ukraine. A city with a rich history and cultural heritage. The city where I live and work. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved working with my hands and I really enjoyed building my own home. At 18, I took a break from my studies at the Financial Academy and went to London. In UK I studied English and worked at a British construction company. It was here where I first encountered professional tools. Construction companies provided us with power tools of different brands, but only Makita was tested over time. This is why I I prefer the power tools from this brand. Afterwards I returned back to Ukraine and completed my studies.Today I live in a big house that I built myself. Recently, after 15 years of work experience, I resigned from the bank because it became very difficult for me to combine work in a bank and work for YouTube, especially during quarantine restrictions. So this time I decided to make another ash bench but for my home. I have already found a place for it.As decoration, I used small walnut branches that I got from my neighbor. Ash is a hardwood that's why I used a floating appearance effect in the design, I'm sure it won't affect its strength.I am happy with the outcome. Wooden bench with backrest HomeMade in Lviv 2021-06-20 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making a large bench with a backrest for my terrace. 9 months ago I bought 3 large pine boards 6 m long each. These were damp, so I left them to dry on my balcony for a while. I used one board to make the bench. In order to prevent the movement of wood, I cut this board lengthwise and re-fastened with decorative walnut inserts. I tried not to use any metal fasteners and was successful. The bench turned out strong and stable, the angle of the backrest turned out to be comfortable. Hardwood kitchen table HomeMade in Lviv 2021-05-21 | In this video I show the process of creating a wooden kitchen table 1100 * 650 * 750 mm. I made this table as a gift for my good friend and neighbor, who has always been there for me. He asked for a handmade table for his mother, which I could not refuse, especially since I already had an idea in my mind to make something like that.The table is made from oak and ash boards remains.It was laborious work, especially in decomposition of wooden blocks. In total I spent 2 weeks on this project. I am happy with the outcome. The table turned out heavy, strong and stable. At a later stage, I'll recomend to add 6 mm tempered glass cover on the top to protect the surface from mechanical damage. Thank you all for watching.
Storage chest HomeMade in Lviv 2021-04-27 | This time I decided to make a chest for my daughter's room. Honestly, I already made an oak chest for her, but after that my son was born the chest got relocated to his room. So it's time to make another storage box for my daughter's toys.This time round I decorated the chest with cross-sections of fruit tree branches and filled it all with epoxy resin. All structural elements are made out of ash wood. No screws were used this time.To make the storage chest cover, I experimented with a thick epoxy resin. Over all, the chest turned out bright, strong and roomy, and most importantly the children like it. Live edge shelving unit HomeMade in Lviv 2021-04-04 | I this video I demonstrate the process of creating a shelving unit for my daughter's room. To make one fit-all place for all the toys, books, dolls and board games that are presently placed everywhere. I still have a few ash boards lying around, so decided to utilise them. To lighten the weight, I decided to make a gap between the two boards and connect them with decorative inserts. I also decided to preserve the tree bark by pre-strengthening it with epoxy resin.The shelving turn out very strong and stable and not too heavy. Walnut logs Side Table HomeMade in Lviv 2021-03-14 | In this video I make a side table from the walnut tree branches and logs. I've always wanted to make such a piece of furniture.The dry walnut branches are quite a hard material so I used a milling machine to process them. I decided to reduce the weight of the table top and therefore made a box from a plywood and pasted it with cut parts of walnut branches, all this I filled with epoxy. I experimented and used a foam backing to make a relief on the bottom and sides of the table. I am convinced that after a while the wood will shift and the relief will become even clearer.I made the leg from glued ash boards and decorated it with plugs from a piece of walnut board. The table turned out steady, strong and not too heavy only 15 kg weight, I expected that to be more ;)Thanks for watching!

Working on projects I often catch myself thinking that I needed a router table. The hand router attached to a piece of plywood no longer suited me. I didn't want make the table top, because today I already set requirements for the accuracy of my tool. Apparently this is a professional growth! ;)So I took the already tested Kreg Router Table with a Router Fence. Also for convenience, I took the JET Router motor with a Router Lift.The stand for all these components I decided to make myself with maximum functionality. The router table stand turned out heavy, stable, with good mobility and no vibration during operation. The engine runs quietly, which is probably a great news for my neighbors! ;)I worked on this project for a long time, but I'm glad that I did it. This Router table will significantly simplify my work and expand the possibilities in the work. Live edge Ash bookshelves HomeMade in Lviv 2021-01-23 | January for Ukrainian folk is the month of New Year and Christmas hollidays. Therefore, any work other than celebrations is not recommended! :) Unfortunately this is also the month of the quarantine lockdown almost for 17 days due to goverment quarantine measures and the month of winter frosts. With all of these factors, its not the best time to pursue my hobby.However, I still decided to pursue a distraction and make a bookshelf to arrange my workplace. For the frame I used ash board. I decided to make the movable shelves because of the wood movement (the temperature in my garage and in the house are very different). To make It more interesting decorated the mounting rails with walnut slices, which I cut from a piece of walnut branch.The design of shelves turned out to be quite strong and reliable, so I'm happy with the outcome.Thank you all for watching!
Walnut coffee table HomeMade in Lviv 2020-12-24 | In this video, I show the process of making a coffee table, the main purpose of which for the next 5 years will be - board games table for my children.I needed a comfortable round table with enough legroom on which my children could comfortably play board games.For this purpose, I used a cross section of walnut - 720 mm in diameter and 60 mm thickness, which had long been lying in my garage and waiting for the right moment to come, how handy! There was a crack in it, which I filled with inserts of cross-sections of a walnut branch. I like the lively look of the wooden bark so I tried to preserve it and recreate its natural look.The table turned out to be heavy, strong, stable, so children are unlikely to flip it. Large dining table from an old parquet HomeMade in Lviv 2020-12-06 | In this video I show the process of making a large dining table from an old parquet. As the base I used plywood 14 mm thickness and decorated the top with old hornbeam and beech parquet. I also used some ash and oak wood scraps I found at home.The dimensions of the table top are 2400 mm by 1200 mm. The frame and table legs I made from ash.This table is a gift to my relative. He needed a table of this size and I was happy to get a new experience.Sanding the table top was a long and the most difficult part in this project.As always, fatigue passes when you see the finished result of your work. Walnut Cabinet HomeMade in Lviv 2020-11-01 | In this video I demonstrate the process of saving three walnut logs from the possibility of becoming firewood.I received these freshly cut logs from my father-in-law as firewood for the fireplace, but then decided to give them another purpose.It was a long process of transformation, but the result is worth the effort and a new experience for me, as I've never worked with walnut boards before. Ash wood bench with fruit trees branches inlay HomeMade in Lviv 2020-09-27 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making a bench - as a gift for my relatives. It's a couple and next week they have three reasons to celebrate: their birthday anniversaries (55 and 60) and a wedding anniversary. I hope my gift will be appropriate and will find a place in their home. I respect this couple, working hard they have achieved much in their lives. I spent a whole week making this bench. The outcome - it turned out strong and stable. The bench frame is made from ash tree. But the cross-cuts inserts of the fruit trees are setting the mood for this bench :).Thank you for watching!
Oak Nightstands HomeMade in Lviv 2020-09-02 | In this video I demonstrate the process of making 2 oak nightstands to replace the old ones which I made earlier from the pallets.I've often imagined having such piece of furniture in my bedroom.I wanted to do something in this design for a long time. I decided to attach the LED ligth, so those nightstands also can be used as a nightlights what is very convenient especially for the small kids in the house.For those bedside tables I used the design of one offset leg. Old Chimney Iron Restoration HomeMade in Lviv 2020-08-08 | During a family weekend in the ukrainian mountains, I visited antique shop where I found an old iron. It is made of a cast iron and worked on coal. I decided to restore it to preserve a clear example of the "wireless" ironing technology used by our ancestors. The best way to clean the rust at home is with vinegar and a metal brush. However, to clean small parts and hard-to-reach places, I turned to the services of the sandblasting machine. I also applied for an argon welding service to repair the broken cast iron grate.During testing, the iron was kept a high temperature for about 1.5 hours, which is a very good indicator.I can say with confidence that it still works properly and it will continue so for the next 100 years! We can't say the same about electric irons. Our ancestors made things to last lifetimes. Its a great piece of history.Thank you for watchig!

Flat pack Spruce Shelving HomeMade in Lviv 2020-06-19 | In this video I show the process of making spruce shelving. I spent the last 6 months repairing the room in my basement and converting it into a storage room.The process of preparing this room was quite complicated: it involved digging into the ground to increase the height of the room, strengthening the foundations of the walls, plastering the walls, making waterproofing and insulating the floor and two exterior walls and tiling. Overall it has been a long process. Finally, when the room was ready, there was a need for shelves and an great idea for a new project.To the make the shelving I used spruce boards; for screeds - I used a piece of ash board and I made It in my own way.The shelves turned out strong and stable, I'm happy with the outcome.Thank you for watching.
Сhopping board HomeMade in Lviv 2020-05-31 | In this video I show the process of making two chopping boards. A friend of mine asked to make one chopping board for him. He has an online food shop so needed a decor for a photo zone such as chopping board. I was happy to help :)For making It I used an old oak board and a piece of maple board. The combination of these two type of wood must create an interesting outcome.When my wife saw the outcome she asked me to make one for her! Ash and Walnut Sideboard HomeMade in Lviv 2020-05-07 | Keeping busy whilst under quarantine, I decided to make a sideboard from ash with the dovetail joints. I've always imagined having such piece of furniture in my living room. It is fortuitous time to make.I am using left over walnut slices (from my previous project) to make the second top for my Sideboard.I spent 2 weeks on this project but I'm happy with the outcome. Build BBQ Rotating Mechanism HomeMade in Lviv 2020-02-27 | In this video I show the process of manufacturing a rotating mechanism for my BBQ that I previously made from a water boiler.For the motor I decided to use a cordless drill. That was a new experience for me and I have encountered many difficulties in this project, such as cutting gears. Hardwood chest of drawers HomeMade in Lviv 2020-02-09 | In this video I make a chest of drawers with a shelf over the top. Actually I needed space for keeping my printer away from my little son. The printer stands on the desk but my little son thinks that the floor is the best location for it.So I made a piece of furniture with a printer shelf, I made it in my own way and it turned out as a chest of drawers with 5 drawers.To make it I used oak, ash, a lot of time and a patience. Making a Torii Gate for local Aikido school HomeMade in Lviv 2020-01-15 | In this video I show the process of manufacturing a Torii - traditional Japanese gate. This Torii gate I gifted to the local aikido school where my little daughter learns the martial art.Previosly I already made and gifted a Coat Rack for the same school.
