The first bad decision was to not bring my NRS Boundry water boots. As well as the weather forecast , it not being very accurate. Although it did pretty much what they had forecast, rain, and wind. Another item of concern was my Helinox Chair Zero broke, which made things rather uncomfortable. We did however have some good fishing ! Not needing full doors on my tarps, I'm glad Warbonnet has these tarp options. I looked at dyneema tarps long and hard. I am not a long distance hiker, and on canoe trips, portages are rarely more than a mile. And the fact that I really only sleep under a tarp maybe 20 or so nights year. It just didn't make sense to pay for dyneema. And one of the drawbacks to me personally is that silpoly compresses down way more than dyneema, space in my pack or dry bag to me is more important than just weight. And compared to the Hammock Gear standard dyneema tarp with doors, the Thunderfly is only 6.12 once heavier ! Winter Breakfast Fail Meet Me Outside 2023-01-21 | Not all outings or adventures work out ! This particular morning hike I had planned on hiking into one of my favorite areas and lookup some breakfast using my FireBox stove.
