This album is a love-letter to the late 80's/early 90's era of Science-Fiction adventure cinema. Musically Influenced by a wide range of cinematic sources from Vangelis and Wendy Carlos to 80's era James Horner, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, etc. But all fused with a blend of electronic dance music genres pulling from the late 70's to today. We were also highly influenced by the Warhammer 40k franchise from Games Workshop, and many other Sci-Fi-horror films/games and franchises (Event Horizon, Dead Space, etc).The Expedition is a narrative story told through 12 instrumental tracks. Oingo Boingo - Remember My Name (2022 Remaster by The Barbary Ghost) The Barbary Ghost 2022-10-23 | Hello fellow Boingoloids! Here it is, the Holy Grail of unreleased Boingo bangers! Intended to be part of the 1987 LP "Boi-ngo", Remember My Name was cut from the tracklist before the band was ever able to record a proper version in the studio. All we fans have had to listen to for years is a low quality, almost mono recording from the demo sessions for the LP. Thankfully YouTubers like "Oingo Boingo Tapes" and others have cataloged and uploaded all of these demo recordings. Without their efforts, projects like this wouldn't be possible for me. So huge thanks goes to them.Now to the meat and potatoes of the remaster. Here's the basics of what I did to get this from a barely audible demo, to a club ready mix. Layered multiple version of the original demo, each one panned slightly differently to make up for the unbalanced original recording. Then they had their EQ filtered to bring out specific frequencies, and then those each had volume adjustments to compensate for any EQ changes. Once the skeleton of the remaster was in place, I then layered in my own drum kit (being careful to go for a late 80's sound), to fill out those missing kicks and snares. Finally I ran the entire mix through Ozone for some mastering magic. And this is the results! It was important to me, to be able to showcase the audio along with the visuals they were created for. Ennio's range covered every imaginable film genre. From westerns, to sweeping historical dramas. Comedy to horror. Political thrillers, war films, documentaries, experimental films, religious works, you name it and Ennio Morricone contributed to it.Getting his start as a young Trumpet player in local Jazz ensembles, Ennio first dipped his toes into film music in the late 50's as a studio arranger and later an orchestrator for other composers. His first solo effort "Il Federale" is where we start our journey in 1961.A few caveats regarding this series: #1: If I am unable to find footage or music for a particular film, it will be noted here. The Rah Band - Clouds Across The Moon (DJ FACT.50s 2019 Remaster) The Barbary Ghost 2019-12-12 | This is a remaster of one of my favorite 80's Italo-Disco inspired singles, by The British duo, "The Rah Band". I've never been able to find a high quality recording online anywhere, not even the reissues on CD are mixed very well. I've always felt this song deserved a proper remaster. So I tried to keep this mix as faithful to the original 12" single as possible. Just accentuating the bass and percussion a bit more and bringing the epic strings and bittersweet vocals more depth and presence in the mix. Then i just lined it up with the original music video. If you dig this, check out our Castlevania tribute album: The Eternal Legacy: vernianprocess.bandcamp.comI've been greatly anticipating the release of Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night, and the final release did not disappoint! Including the soundtrack by legendary composer Michiru Yamane. The only thing I noticed about the OST that I wasn't super thrilled by, was the lack of bass and percussion in the overall mix. So I took it upon myself to start doing some remasters of the OST for fun. I added my own drum kit on top of the original song, and brought the bass out of the mix a lot more.
