Getting ready to transplant some ground cherries and I have had a few people ask how the belt I found that works on the yardmax tiller is holding up ..... well, after about 12 hours or more of usage, this is the belt in action.
I'm not paying over $60 for a sub standard belt size. I have mostly loved this tiller but yardmax should have included a statement how they were going to screw their customers when the dual rotating rear tine tiller drive belts went bad and they do go bad quickly because they are low quality belts to begin with. They don't even publish the belt size online to keep people from searching for a cheaper replacement, the belt part number doesn't cross reference to any other belt even when you look up the correct part number because they don't want to make its replacement easy for anyone. Yardmax expects us to pay over $60 for their replacement belt whenever they go bad but I'm frugal and I have lots of money to find a cheaper solution and I did just that to save you the hassle (I had to order 8 belts from multiple sources and various lengths to find the ONE that worked perfectly). Yardmax doesn't want you to do that, they instead want you to pay a convenience tax (highly inflated replacement cost) instead and just buy theirs from only their factory replacement parts pushers after you get frustrated none of the belts you tried worked. I found the correct sized belt for $11 you too can order off Amazon. This belt over several hours of use has worked perfectly although it's a cheaper rubber belt, its probably the same quality as the factory one. Now I am on the hunt to find a heavy duty industrial or kevlar or aramid belt in the same length.
