One of the most fascinating automotive stories in recent history. The Grenadier was the result of Britain’s richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe being told ‘no’ in his attempt to buy tooling and rights from Land Rover and continue production of the old Defender 4x4, which ended production in 2015. At great personal expense he developed this clear homage to the Defender and named it after the pub he was in when he came up with the idea. Has he succeeded? Time for some thrilling off-road action.
