Ascending Granite Mountain on a sun-drenched day just before Christmas feels magical. Sparkling snow reflects the bright light, weaving an intricate tapestry across the slopes.
As you climb higher, the snow deepens and your pace slows. Be sure to check the avalanche forecast before setting out, as the trail crosses active avalanche chutes.
Upon reaching the ridgetop, we were rewarded with panoramic views of the Central Cascades, with bands of clouds dancing below us.
On such a beautiful day, there’s nothing more fulfilling than being outside, immersed in a winter wonderland.
