*What is Infernum mod?*
Infernum mod is an extension mod for Calamity that adds an extra difficulty - "Infernum", that's harder than Death mode, with a primary focus on expansive reworking of boss AIs.

I'm sure y'all have many questions regarding this track, and I bet the main one is "Why did you make this? CDMusic aka Charlie is already making the official theme!". For that, allow me to tell you the story behind this track, and why it means so much to me.

It all began back in march, on a day where I was feeling particularly motivated. At the time, I was really obsessed with draedon's motif, and I really wanted to do something with it. So, after asking the calamity dev team to make sure that it's okay, I began working on my own version of the exo mechs theme, intending for it to be an alternate exo mechs theme in infernum mod.

No other calamity bosses will get this treatment in the future, so don't ask for them.

At the time, I decided to keep this project a secret from the infernum team, intending to surprise them by posting the completed work once it's done. Was it silly, and perhaps immature? Yeah, it was. But I just couldn't help myself, ya know?

I then poured my heart and soul into it for the next few days, really sure that this one will truly be my magnum opus aka best work of the year. For a while, it was my pride and joy. Unfortunately, after I managed to reach the 2 minutes mark with the track... awful stuff happened.

I won't go into details, but basically, my self-confidence took a massive dive. Same with my mental stability, to a lesser extent. It was so bad that I essentially lost all my passion for the track, as my insecurities started to set in. Suddenly, the prospect of people comparing my piece and Charlie's official one, and potentially mocking mine for being "worse" became really dreadful. Paranoid thoughts of people accusing me of trying to "one up Charlie" or "steal his spotlight" didn't help matters.

So, with a heavy heart, I abandoned the project and left it to collect dust. The next few miserable months flew by, and I had started to resign myself to the fact that I'll have to move on from it eventually. But a while ago, as I was sifting through at my unfinished projects, I stumbled upon it again. Thinking "why not?", I decided to post the WIP track for the infernum team to check out, not expecting much.

To my surprise, they really like it. They then encouraged me to finish it, as they'd love for the track to be officially implemented into infernum mod. So with some hesitation, I decided to give the track a try one last time. It was then that, as I was tweaking a few things about it and listening to it on repeat, I realized that my passion for the track was back and stronger than ever. Suddenly, all those insecurities and fears I had about the track during my rough patch didn't seem so bad anymore.

Mind made up, the day after that I was hell bent on completing the track, and went straight to doing so after lunch. I even got a bit emotional at some points, especially as I re-listened to the climax of the track over and over again to make sure that it's as great as I wanted it to be.

An over 5 hours marathon of a composing session later, and there's breaks don't worry, it was ready to go!

... Yes, I know that when the official exo mechs theme comes out, most people will likely flock to that and leave this piece of mine behind. I'd be lying if I said that the thought doesn't make me a bit sad. But that's alright, because when the time comes, I'll learn to accept it eventually. Sides, Charlie deserves all those views for his hardwork!

That and... my best friend Dominic, the owner of infernum mod loves the track to bits, and I'm sure there'll be at least be some others who do too. And that was all the encouragement I needed to post this.

Treat this track as just something to listen to while waiting for the official theme if you want, heh.
There'll be a toggle to swap between the themes once the official theme is out too, so don't cha worry.

PinpinNeon 2024-03-31 | So uhhh the original plan was to release a full music video of my 3rd and final rain world song submission for rw art month, but for the past week or so I had been bombarded with one complications after another (and also final exams), which heavily ate up a ton of my free time

Before I knew it, all I could get out in time before this art month ends was this teaser made using a part of the mv that's 3/4 of the way done... and that's after a 12 hours marathon of doing nothing but working on it tonight (with breaks, don't worry)

But that's alright, because I think what I've got to show here is more than enough to tell y'all what to expect from the full mv, and this will do just fine for my art prompt submission anyways!

Just in time for christmas day, heck yeah!

Safe to say, this is by far THE most extensive solo project I've ever worked on!
The song took over 30 hours to compose, and the visual assets for the video took me another 55 hours or so. Add the video editing time into it, and the result is about 90 hours of worktime!
This is a HUGE personal milestone for me, and I'm super proud of tackling it all by myself!
Even if it's not that impressive compared to other music videos that have much more professional editing and stuff, I consider this a huge step forward for me as someone who's practicing arts!

I have gotten all 118 steam achievements on vanilla a while ago, and now I'm experiencing the joys of mods
It's been a while since I have a game I enjoy playing often, so I'm not complaining!
Though Rain World brainrot is still going super strong as well :3

P. S. I had a hard time deciding on the font for the video, but thanks to @zyekno2464 I was able to find a great one!

*[VIDEO NOTES]*
The song was originally composed for Umbral Mithrix mod (hence the thumbnail and video footage being of said fight), which was made by Nuxlar, but we decided that it'd be better to put the song into a separate mod independent from it (which will be called "Alt Mithrix Theme" when it's out!). This means you don't need to have the umbral mithrix mod on in order to listen to the song while fighting mithrix- which is quite similar to how terraria infernum mod music contains tracks intended for infernum mod, but can be used without needing to turn infernum mod on!

That being said, since the song *was* intended for umbral mithrix, it's best experienced when fighting him and not regular mithrix- In particular, the last section of the song was timed so that it ends perfectly when the survival phase ends! Do check the mod out, as it's a really fun and interesting rework of the mithrix fight- just do note that it's very challenging and punishing! ...Though thankfully, there's an option to keep retrying the fight without needing to restart your run if you die

The video footage is indeed me playing, but as many of you can prolly guess from just looking at the run time, it was *NOT* an optimal run! I was progressing through stages way slower than usual, which caused umbral mithrix to scale to high heaven and become *very* tanky- the fight usually goes by a lot quicker than what you see in the video! ^^;

This is *NOT* the big project I was alluding to in one of my recent community posts, said project is something else entirely! This is something I had whipped up to test the limits of my new recently bought electric guitar plugin, Ample Metal Eclipse (which you guys had a taste of in Zenith Fabrications!), and because I wanted to see how fun it is to compose at 250+ BPM (which is very)! ...And also because I needed an excuse to compose another final boss tier song, but that's irrelevant!

For those wondering, the vocals in the background that you hear throughout the song are "Speed is war!" and "Destruction with destruction!", and if you're a risk of rain 2 logbook nerd you'll know what they're referencing!

For a long time, hearing a certain motif would usually make me feel a bit emotional.
All the memories associated it, both good and bad- it's sometimes too much.
But... its magic that had made me so fond of it- it had come back, for one last dance.

For this one I decided to use only orchestral and acoustic instruments, and compared to my other tracks which usually feature at least one electronic/rock element, I'd say that makes the end result sounds quite unique among my infernum tracks and really fitting for the boss!
This song is on the slower side of the spectrum, focusing more or less on the idea that Golem was a clearly revered figure in the past and going for an "ancient" feel. Hopefully I got it down pat!

With this song out of the way, only one song remains to be done in the infernum OST: The third and final vocal song much like Sky After Rain and Storm Before Dawn, and it'll by far be my darkest, most contentious and one of the hardest undertakings yet.
It's going to be one heck of a journey... but I'm ready.

Soooo, we *kinda* have a 2 themes in 1 situation here!
For those of you who don't know, Dreadnautilus got elevated to boss status in infernum mod- which is why they're being mentioned separately from the other minibosses in the title, and why they have their own version of the track

Now, being just minibosses (and Dreadnautilus), I tried to make the themes fairly simple but impactful. *Maybe* the themes still go a bit over the top, but hey, considering Infernum's all-out-or-nothing nature I think that's pretty fitting!

...Oh yeah and I should prolly explain the recent frequent uploads eheh
After Storm Before Dawn's release, my music motivation high was finally dying down, and for the next month or so after that I was just chilling, playing games with friends and enjoying myself~
But burnouts end eventually, and once I got my music spark back again, I went on a music making spree just a *tiny* little bit- working on WoF, AEW and then these two themes back to back
If I keep this up, Golem's theme (the last infernum theme before the final vocal track) might just be out within the next week or so, but considering how sporadic my music motivation can be don't get your hopes up :P

This song was quite the undertaking!
For AEW, I wanted the song to truly convey the sense of terror and panic that the fight will no doubt instill into players, and for that reason I've pulled out quite a few tricks for it!
From having several key and time signature changes, to making use of various types of pounding percussion, to incorporating a lot of dissonance into various parts of the track- I want the song to truly cause unease and tension for the listeners as they struggle to keep up with the song's wild pace
Easily one of my most complex and best tracks, I'd say!

The Sky After Rain motif actually dated all the way back in June of 2022
It has been changed into something new nowadays, but the original rendition of the motif still sounds pretty good to me and admittedly makes me a bit nostalgic
As such, it was made into the main melody of this track!
And speaking of this track, whew, this is pretty up there as one of my most contentious ones yet
Lots of gross dissonance and pounding drums to really hammer in the horror and panic of facing against WoF, with a heroic sounding yet still frantic climax at the end
Definitely not something some of y'all will like, I imagine

Whew finally, it has been done!
Skeletron theme has admittedly caused me a bit more trouble than expected. I had to scrap one draft after another while trying to come up with something that I'm satisfied with, resulting in me delaying it in favor of composing other themes like the recent ones till I can find something I'll be okay with.
It didn't help that I wanted the theme to include the melodies of the current, outdated and unnamed/unpublished Skeletron theme too, since I didn't want to just throw those melodies away. So yeah, quite frustrating ^^;
Fortunately, in the end I managed to come up with this iteration, and while it's not the best compared to my other tracks I do feel quite good about it!
(And yes, I included trom*bones*, xylo*bones* and that one guitar from the theme of a certain 1 HP skeleton from a certain game, so I fully expect meme comments to appear)

... My time in the terraria modding community hasn't been all rainbow and sunshine.
That's not to say it's all bad- I've met several wonderful people and learned many valuable life lessons along the way.

Seer of the Night was a track I made in about 5 hours, and it shows.
While it's not a bad theme by any means, I felt like it's in need of an upgrade compared to be more in line with other infernum tracks in terms of quality.
So I decided to give it a much needed boost!

And now for a big one! This took me a few days to finish, and I think I can proudly say this is by *far* my most powerful track!

Fun lil fact #3: The number of the moon is 2. LC's theme starts off at 220 beats per minute. Divides that by 2 and you get 110, which is the bpm that ML's theme starts off at. ML's theme also later on gets bumped up to 154 bpm, which is divisible by 22, similar to how LC's theme have 2 bpms that are divisible by 44.

Just so y'all know, this theme shall set the standards for the intensity of the future infernum boss tracks, meaning they'll sound just as intense as this track if not more- look forward to that :D

Fun lil fact #2: This song has 195 bpm. 195 converted to binary is 11000011, which has an even number of ones, and the term "evil" number can be used to denote nonnegative integers that have an even number of 1s in their binary expansions. With EoC's "evil presence" message, I just *had* to go for it. 11000011 is also a palindrome, which is cool!

After my latest track was uploaded, I was hit pretty dang hard by lack of motivation and inspiration. College didn't help matters either. But then a burst of ideas and motivation hit me a few days ago and... well, this is the result! This is by *far* my craziest track yet, so hope y'all enjoy! :D

Fun lil fact #1: This one has a bit of "4" motif going on, referencing the 4 celestial pillars.
-It has 4 main sections.
-It uses 4 bpms (144, 176, 188 and 220) and changes bpm 4 times.
-144 and 188 are 100 + 44 and 100 + 44 + 44 respectively, while 220 and 176 are divisible by 44. All of them are also divisible by 4.

Until CDMusic finishes making the official theme for Draedon's Exo Mechs fight, this theme is also acting as a placeholder theme for that fight for the time being! And so is part of the official Calamity Mod Music mod for now- hope you guys ain't disappointed by this! ^~^

*What is Infernum mod?*
Infernum mod is an extension mod for Calamity that adds an extra difficulty - "Infernum", that's harder than Death mode, with a primary focus on expansive reworking of boss AIs.

So yeah, starting from now this mod will have custom music!
There'll be more boss themes coming, but unlike the mechs the boss themes they will be more generalized, each track playing for multiple bosses instead of being personalized for specific bosses. Put simply, the mod will have its own version of Boss 1, Boss 2, Boss 3 etc. though it won't strictly follow the same formula as vanilla tracks. I may give more bosses a unique theme if they're important enough to receive one, but we'll see.

While everyone else is off doing stuff with Deltarune Chapter 2, I decided to go back to Undertale. Because my brain decided "What if I remix Battle Against a True Hero and mix in 2 other songs too?" for some reason :P

Funnily enough, that simple idea turns out to be my largest project yet- sitting at almost 7 minutes in terms of song length, whereas I was initially actually aiming for 4-5 minutes. Not gonna complain though~

Now, this is obviously not the most well-made remix out there- there's prolly quite a lot of stuff that can be improved and stuff, but for the time being I'm quite proud of myself for this one, and I hope you all enjoy it nonetheless ^w^

College has been a pain in the ass my gosh.

Still, I've managed to find time to expand my horizons a bit and tried out the hardcore genre. More specifically, this song is inspired by a few rhythm game tracks- like "Everlasting Message" by penoreri.
