But I was so impressed by the SCSI2SD that I decided it warranted a better look than me rambling for an hour so I will be doing another video on it's features and using it soon. But this shows some of my initial testing and multiple different uses and tests as I was trying it.
Tech Tangents II
This is an offshoot video that was originally a continuation of part 1 here: youtu.be/ptB8MgjmADk

So for giggles, I tried dabbing a little isopropanol on the ribbon as it was printing and was able to tease some life out of it. So, I figured if a little is good, a lot must be better! This was a more successful than expected attempt at quickly breathing some life into a dead ribbon again. I'm not sure if it will last or could be optimized, but it at least worked for me for what I wanted it for.
I decided I would open source the code as I was making this video so you can find it here: github.com/AkBKukU/hardcopy
This is a comparison of 4 different printers, representing three different print methods, all from the 1980's. Each printer was printing a different but similar sheet and I timed out the print to the point where it had finished the 5th line and moved the carriage back to the 6th line.
If you also want to grab either of these here are some links to them on ebay that will help me out if you get one:

It's all down to my filming lights, and my editing. The filming lights are unreasonably bright for a CRT. They blow it out completely. But I need them for the camera to pick up everything in the scene well. So I edit the video to make the CRT appear more like it should if I wasn't using extremely bright lights. It's purely to balance out issues caused by the process of filming them.
I can't say how long it will last or what the noise output might be, but for what I've used it for, it's been pretty good. I would definitely buy another one if I needed an AT PSU.

The two light colors mix temporally in your vision to produce a white image.
I filmed the effect by reducing the shutter speed of the camera while filming to shorten the window of the visibility of the fluorescence decay.
The nines compliment is 2, but we add one to that to correct the "underloading" that happens by dropping carried 1's.
Here I do the following:
1. Run a "DIR" on the disk
2. Eject it and put it back
3. Run a "DIR" on the disk again
Wait, wrong 90's fps.
Thinking about the screen shrinking more, I suspect it isn't just in the bottom half, I bet it is centered but the linearity is changed and it is compressed significantly at the bottom.

I haven't really used this system all that much outside of what has been on camera since then so you could really consider this a worst case. And it definitely held up fine.

These weren't meant to be high end recordings of the music, it's just a mic up to the speaker. I was able to make them though with almost no additional effort while making a video on the TD-7( youtube.com/watch?v=2SRfspq5j2s ) so I thought I would.
