Vanish Cap Under the Moat Time Save (TAS) SilentSlayers 2018-04-19 | 2 frames faster than Plush.Elevators don't allow for the 2 frames to matter (because of cycles) unless someone finds better elevator movement, so this is tied world record but most optimal run. It is actually 2nd last elevator that you triple jump off of that's causing the problem now.1 frame at the beginning red coin saved and 1 frame during the slope jump dives saved. Plush didn't take advantage of maximizing QF landings on the slope jump dives and grinds and his beginning didn't hit slope optimally.Too lazy to do ghost comparison.
Super Mario 64 - Hyperspeed Jump Kicks SilentSlayers 2018-02-28 | Using certain slope types and an unreferenced wall, repeated jump kicks can build speed up to 400 in 0.5x A presses. This is a proof of concept, although this particular spot you can only get ~100 speed because the left wall is awkwardly placed and can kill your speed, or Mario breaks free. SM64 [TAS] - Vanish Cap Under the Moat Red Coins + Vanish Cap Switch Pressed (2447) SilentSlayers 2017-11-02 | This ties Plush's run. However one frame is saved at the beginning which can't be saved in the end because of the elevator positioning. It is notable if one more frame is saved you could reach the elevator without the glitchy wallkick. But this may be maxed, as I tried very rigorously to save in all places, and only the beginning I could save a frame. There are places where I save some speed and/or units, but they don't end up saving a frame. Plush and the runners before him did an amazing job on this star. I really liked the star so I decided to try very hard to maximize it to the best of my abilities including trying all kinds of different strategies. Because I put so much time into this star, Plush agreed to include it in the 120 even though in the end it ties his run. Thanks to Plush for his help with this run.BTW setting this up was a nightmare.... ghost hack is american version, Plush's run on Japanese, my run on Japanese, synching up Yaw variable, making it so the Blue switch can be pressed twice... for my first time really hexing inputs this was a lot for me. XD Re-records were spread over many files but there were a lot cause I was so meticulous with trying everything and optimizing heavily. This star is really hard to tie, and the beginning frame I save is really annoying to get, because you have to do wonky angles. I use same Yaw as Plush.Normally I don't make large descriptions but this star and the work I put into it were complex lol. Enjoy.
[TAS] Tomatobirds Singlestars - Behind 320 SilentSlayers 2017-08-29 | Hack by TomatoBird8. Ties Dar Gos but can get 3"20 with ground pound AND landing on box (sort of). This is not fastest way to hit ground (pretty sure) because Mario doesn't smoothly land on the box if you look carefully, but this is fastest in game timer run like Dar Gos' video. Whether I ground pound or not it's 3"20. 3"17 might be possible but wasn't easy for me to optimize further and didn't check how many units I was away from saving another frame.Great little mini-hack tomatobird8! SM64 - Hyperspeed Crawling Freerun SilentSlayers 2017-08-26 | Tiny-Huge Island Freerun! Apparently Plush has already achieved fast speed crawling in HMC (Can't find the video but maybe he'll link it here) but the set up here is cool anyway and it looks hilarious. 48-49.5 speed is highest the crawling speed would reach. During the crawling movement you saw on the sand I only had 33 speed because Mario loses some on certain steepness of slopes (flat) but it looks quite fast still xD4k re-records. Enjoy!
