Join me as I walk from the Royal St. Kitts area near Frigate Bay into downtown Basseterre and the Port Zante cruise terminal. It’s about a 1-hour walk (5–5.5 km), mostly along main roads — some sidewalks, some shoulder walking — and yes, it’s hot and humid even in December! 🌞 Expect temps around 27°C (80°F) with sticky humidity, so start early and bring water.
Along the way, I’ll show you Independence Square — a quiet public space in the heart of town — and explore Port Zante, packed with duty-free shops, local vendors, and colorful Caribbean energy.
We also pass Dubai , known for its local braiding salons and beauty shops. If you're in the market for a fresh look, that’s the place.
Public shared transport in St. Kitts are a bit limited. Minibuses (green plates starting with "H") run from Basseterre to villages, but they don’t service Frigate Bay, so you’ll need a taxi or shuttle if you're staying at a resort.
Stick around to see what it’s really like to walk the route — and decide if it’s for you or better left to a cab. Let’s go!
I have to say though I love my hammerschimd dirndl🥰😍🥰
What a trip! I spent 8 unforgettable nights in St. Kitts, and let me tell you—it didn’t start off as planned. Just before arrival, my **Airbnb reservation was CANCELLED** 😱. Luckily, thanks to a super helpful support agent (shoutout to them 🙌), I managed to find a solution for the first night and keep the trip on track.
From there, it only got better...
**📍 South Frigate Bay** quickly became my base, with **The Strip** delivering good vibes day and night. I soaked up the **sun on the beach**, enjoyed the warm Caribbean waters, and experienced the local culture in full swing.
**🌙 Nightlife? Next level.** From beach bars to late-night hotspots, The Strip was alive every evening.
**🍽️ Food? Incredible.** I tried everything from fresh seafood to local street eats—you’ll see some must-try spots in the video!
To top it all off, I rang in the **New Year right on the island**—fireworks, music, and unforgettable energy.
Whether you're planning a trip to St. Kitts or just curious about island life, come along with me as I explore the beaches, the vibes, the unexpected surprises, and how I turned a canceled reservation into a trip to remember!

The music gets louder and more upbeat — think party anthems and sing-along classics. Suddenly, everyone’s up on the benches (not the tables!) dancing, swaying, and clinking Maßkrüge in pure Bavarian celebration.
As the beer flows, the vibes get flirtier — it’s the perfect time to mingle, laugh, and maybe make some connections
Looking to party late? Head to the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke or the Weinzelt — these are the last tents to close and the go-to spots for an extended Wiesn night.
Whether you're sipping wine or Maßbier, this is where the real late-night magic happens.
So if you thought Oktoberfest was fun by day — just wait until night falls. Prost! 🌙🥨
The best spot to cool down? Definitely Käfer’s Wiesn-Schänke – shady, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying a cold Rädler or crisp Helles. 🍺
Met so many amazing people from around the world — and even an Austrian guy who yodelled for me on the spot! 🇦🇹🎶 Absolute legend!
From sunshine to steins, this was a Wiesn day to remember. Prost! 🍻

Throughout the week, I had the opportunity to:
✅ Visit special needs children’s homes
✅ Spend time at local orphanages
✅ Conduct Dream Job Workshops at several schools
✅ Host General Knowledge Quizzes with enthusiastic students
✅ Lead a Creative Writing Workshop in a fifth school
📍 Day 1 – Abuja:
I kicked off in Abuja, leading the "My Dream Job" workshop at both a primary + secondary school and a girls’ secondary school. This was supported by odysseyedufoundation.org Students shared their future aspirations, role models, and dreams — from doctors to engineers, fueled by personal stories and big goals.
📍 Day 2 – Orphanage & Special Needs Visits:
We spent time with children in two orphanages and a special needs home — sharing gifts, stories, and moments of joy that I’ll never forget.
📍 Day 3 – Lagos Food Bank:
In Lagos, I volunteered with the Lagos Food Bank, helping package and distribute food packs. I also donated clothes and shoes — small items that I hope made a big difference (lagosfoodbank.org/about-us/who-we-are)
📍 Day 4 – Girls High School in My Village:
Back in my village, I hosted another "My Dream Job" workshop paired with a fun and educational quiz session — the energy and passion from these girls were contagious.
📍 Day 5 – Literacy Workshop in Nsukka:
In Enyiduru (Nsukka), we held a writing and reading workshop with quizzes — helping children build confidence in self-expression and literacy (https://www.enyiduru.de/)
📍 Day 6 – Orphanage Visits in Agbani:
Another emotional day visiting orphanages in Agbani, where I got to share time, resources, and lots of smiles with the children.
📍 Day 7 – Private School in Emene, Enugu:
We wrapped up with the final "My Dream Job" workshop and quizzes at a private high school in Emene — rounding off a week filled with purpose, learning, and connection.
These experiences were deeply emotional, educational, and fulfilling. Each child, each story, and each moment reaffirmed my belief in the power of community service, education, and creativity to change lives.
🌍 Whether you're considering volunteering abroad or looking for inspiration to make a difference locally — I hope this video encourages you to take that step.
✨ Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible.

In this video, I share my full experience flying domestically with Air Peace across Nigeria:
Abuja → Lagos
Lagos → Enugu
Enugu → Lagos
Along the way, I compare my journey with other Nigerian airlines and break down the rise in ticket prices and what it’s really like flying in Nigeria as of 2024 November
"In Nigeria in 2024, the average domestic flight fare for a one-way journey was around N89,000 to N98,561 in the first half of the year, before significant increases later in the year, such as the October 2024 Air Peace fare hike to N286,000 on the Lagos-Abuja route. International ticket prices also varied, with the average Lagos-London one-way economy fare dropping to approximately N585,620 ($470) in April 2024 following a price war."

Grogue (also spelled grog) is a traditional Cape Verdean distilled spirit made primarily from sugarcane. It's considered the national drink of Cape Verde and holds deep cultural, social, and even medicinal significance.
I was fortunate enough to get a wonderful Airbnb run by Isa I highly recommend it.
Situated approximately 20 km north of Porto Novo, Ponta do Sol is nestled in a scenic bay surrounded by steep cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. The village's name, meaning "Point of the Sun," is derived from the nearby headland, Ponta do Sol, which is the northernmost point of both Cape Verde and Santo Antão . Historically, the area was known as Vila Dona Maria Pia, named after Queen Maria Pia of Portugal
