On November 13, 1966, the crew of Gemini XII conducted a tether experiment with the mission's Agena Target Vehicle (ATV). Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell maneuvered the Gemini spacecraft around the ATV in an attempt to create a circular orbit and attain gravity-gradient stabilization. This video is raw footage of that experiment.
