How to tie the gathering (wrapping) knot! This is a basic macrame knot that is very important for macrame beginners to master. It’s extremely good for starting and ending plant hangers!

The gathering knot also works great as a “stopper” knot, meaning it can help prevent other knots from coming undone. So it works great in keychains too. You also may use this to connect sections together in macrame wall hangings

🧵ROPE USED: 5mm braided cotton cord.

I recommend using at least 24 inches of rope to form this knot. Add more length if you want a bigger wrapped section, or if you use thicker rope.
