In which the original overpowered duo clean up house with a bit of help.
It took of planning and re-planning to get this run to work. Original plan involved a Lancer with the Theimer M30R and an Engineer with Double Action, with the Shamrock using its flamethrower on the northern Cannon Bunker and Heavy Gatling. But the Engineer's smaller AP pool caused problems on Turn 1, where he would have to move without dispatching an enemy -- essentially a waste of 1 CP. Though this strategy probably wouldn't have worked very well anyway, because of a couple of instances where I'd have to rush the M30R user across Heavy Gatling fire, and the Engineer's smaller AP pool would likely prove to be a problem later on as well.
This strategy abuses the fact that Rosie's Strong-Willed potential was left untouched, and that she has access to an anti-armor flamethrower (with good Range). This makes her ideal in taking out the Heavy Gatling turrets strewn in the trenches, where Marina's line of sight does not reach. Alicia was used because of her ridiculously good Accuracy, helped by Country Bred whenever proc'd, to ensure her dispatching the Scout Elite on Turn 1.
I got pretty lucky with reinforcement requests in this run -- usually a good number come from the enemy base camp, after which the Shocktrooper reinforcements run up and would shoot down anyone who wasn't hidden in the trenches, out of their line of sight -- an instant run-killer that happened way too often...
