It also highlights the affect it has on not only the adults but the children. Who are often kept in the dark for their ‘benefit’.
Keeping Grandma is not only a story about potentially losing the matriarch of a British-Nigerian family. It’s also about how that family came together in a time of desperate need to stay united.

Evolution: Films brings together the Lyric’s SPRINGBOARD trainees and young people from the Roundhouse’s Behind The Lens programme to create 5 short films. Each film is a classic duologue reimagined in a contemporary setting. Showcasing extracts from The Father by August Stringberg, adapted by Luke Barnes.
In what could be seen as a coming of age for useful Artificial Intelligence, the world is experiencing a flurry of conversation around the emergence of Machine Learning Models (AI tools) that, at least partially, replace human effort in the generation of creative content – text and images. Questions around creativity, authenticity, authorship, implicit bias, safety, accessibility and the future of work abound.
In our season, FUTURES, Roundhouse is platforming three artists whose work explores the potential social impacts of AI and the prospects for human-machine co-existence in possible futures.
This interactive session provides an opportunity for audiences to not just ask these artists questions, but to respond to the questions posed by their work. Through interactive demonstrations of their work and process, Jess Thom, Avinash Kumar and Karen Palmer will pose questions for our audience to discuss and attempt to answer.

Formed while in high school, under a name created from an inside joke, Girl Ray began releasing music while in high school and were subsequently signed to Moshi Moshi before graduation.
The Indie band then released their Debut album, ‘Earl Gray’ which drew inspiration from C86 and timeless Carole King. It has been described by some as folk pop reminiscent of the 70s.
In dissatisfaction of writing their next album in the same vein, Girl Ray fearlessly ditched their previous formula and released ‘Girl’, a delightful sun-kissed tribute to their love of pop and R&B
With folk-tinged pop melodies inspired by the likes of George Michael, & ABBA
And a newly found love for Pop-R&B credited to Ariana Grande, Girl Ray are a sonic blast of uncompromising idiosyncrasy with a lustrous future ahead of them

With her voice and cello as her primary instruments alongside an array of effects units. Chua creates ambient pop songs that are intimate, slow-burning and enchanting.
Her 2019 Debut EP Antidotes 1 which Chua self-released is an exploration of her sound flowing lightly between hushsed songwriting and expansive textural soundscapes. Antidotes1 was greeted with high praises by Pitchfork, The Guardian, Dazed and gal-dem, transforming Chua from a cellist for a Magdalene era-FKA Twigs’ to performing her own one-person shows across the UK and Europe
Newly signed under the cult indie label 4AD, Lucinda Chua released the sequel to her Debut, Antidotes 2 on 7 May. According to Chua, the song is about “rebirth and finding the inner strength to rise”.
“If Antidotes 1 was Chua building the landscape and scenery for her music,” reads a statement for the new EP, “then Antidotes 2 is her living within it.”
