Some solves on the new GAN12 Maglev (6.03 ao5/4.54 Single + a little written review) KevinG 2021-09-22 | As the name suggests this Version uses a Maglev system, which means, that instead of the usual springs in your core, it uses opposing magnets to simulate the spring repullsion, which seems to lead to less resistance when turning.As usual with Gan cubes, this cube allows for personalization in many different ways: 1.) Just like older Gan puzzles, it allows you to change the strength of the corner magnets (3 different settings) 2.) It obviously also lets you tension your cube (5 settings) 3.) It also lets you adjust the distance in between the repelling core magnets (6 settings)The turning is easily as good as any other flagship 3x3 on the market (which is not really surprising nowadays), but compared to the older gan puzzles the feeling seems to have changed quite a bit(at least on my current settings), as mentioned before there is less resistance when turning and the cube feels more hollow and lighter due to holes in the corner stalks.Performancewise there are not many things to complain about (it is my new main).But there are small problems that i have experienced: 1.) Because the corner magnets are longer than on the GAN11 they break off more easily (but they can easily be glued back on) 2.) I am not sure if it is because of my turning or my settings, but I have experienced a few more edge pops, than on the GAN11M Pro but they are not frequent enough to be a big problem imoOverall a great puzzle!
