Ladderback Jacquard knitting tutorial for stranded knitting

starcrossed knits 💫 2024-03-27 | Ladderback Jacquard is a great technique for catching long floats in stranded knitting so they don't show through on the other side. This tutorial will explain why I recommend using it, and how to work it both flat and in the round. I also share a technique that makes it easier for telling apart your ladderback jacquard stitches from your regular stitches, to help you avoid mixing them up and messing up your color chart!

starcrossed knits 💫 2024-03-16 | This tutorial shows you how to add a double-knit button-band to your cardigan after the fact. Double-knit button-bands let you add a really lovely finish to your handknit cardigans, and lay flat. This tutorial shows you how to pick up stitches along the neckline, cast-on with the Italian tubular cast-on, join the double-knit band as you work it, create vertical buttonholes without having to cut the yarn, and how to cast off. This style of button-band is used in my Deuxieme Cardigan knitting pattern.

a knitting tutorial for this beginner-friendly headband / ear warmer (which also makes a great last minute diy christmas gift!). this headband uses less than one skein of worsted weight yarn, which makes it great for scrap busting, and can be knit flat with double knitting or in the round. i like the brigitte bardot (or bella hadid) vibes it adds while keeping your ears warm ✨

starcrossed knits 💫 2023-08-18 | challenging myself to machine knit a custom tank top on a short deadline, and vlogging the process along the way! i'm a machine knitting beginner, but have been hand knitting for the past 3 years and a knitwear designer for the past year. bringing you along on the process to make a tank top as a thank-you gift to the friend who gave me the flatbed knitting machine, and timing how long it takes so i can compare it to the time it takes to hand-knit! watch me learn how to do picot hems, decreases, and short rows so i can translate one of my original designs to the machine.
