The Serengeti plains transform into a nursery during calving season, with thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes bringing new life into the world. Witness the miracle of birth in the wild, as nature unveils her most intimate moments. We'll also encounter the other magnificent residents of this vast ecosystem — lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and a myriad of bird species.
Through the lens of Janine's camera, we've captured the raw and awe-inspiring beauty of the Serengeti. Watch as newborn calves take their first shaky steps, as herds gather around watering holes, and as predators lurk in the shadows, reminding us of the delicate balance of life in the wild.
Join us for this photo safari adventure and experience the magic of Serengeti's calving season. From heartwarming scenes of motherhood to the nail-biting tension of survival, this trip report is a rollercoaster of emotions. It's not just a journey through the Ndutu region, but a voyage into the heart of life itself.

Danielle is a Nikon shooter so she also wanted to know what it might be like to switch to Sony.
At Pangolin photo safari many of our clients arrive with Sony gear so it's always good for us to have practical experience with all the major brands. We are in no way affiliated with Sony so this is Danielle's honest experience with the camera. Danielle usually shoots Nikon so she was particularly interested to see how they differ in feel and function.
She tested the tracking and recognition capabilities in different situations on different subjects from small birds to large mammals and gives her thoughts on what it might be like to switch from Nikon to sony as well as DSLR to mirrorless.

Our clients shoot with all the brands (Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Olympus, Tamron, Fuji) and when you have 12 people on a Great Migration safari you have a whole load of gear that they bring with them. The subjects that they saw and photographed were plenty of wildebeest (obviously) as well as cheetah, lions, leopards, elephants, zebra and even some of the rarer cats like serval. It was an epic trip!
Charl explains the benefits as well as the pros and cons of each type of lens that you might need on a Masai Mara Photo Safari and of course, he will share plenty of the images that you could take.

The Chobe National park is arguably one of Africa's best year-round wildlife photography destinations. We opened The Pangolin Chobe Hotel (home to Pangolin Photo Safaris) in 2018 The Chobe is famous for its huge elephant population as well as plenty of hippos, crocodiles, plains game and an abundance of birds - both migratory and resident species.
In The Chobe, we use specialised boats and vehicles to explore the Chobe National Park twice a day. We supply our clients with cameras and telephoto lenses (if required) free of charge and each time we go into the park you are accompanied by one of the Pangolin Photo Hosts
This was shot by our good friend Quintin MIlls. If you would like to know more about his work you can visit his site here: https://quintinmills.co.za/
