#Starship #SN9 #SpaceXStarship SN8: Anamorphic Wide View with 3D Crowd AudioCosmic Perspective2020-12-18 | During the Starship SN8 test flight we positioned a 50mm anamorphic lens to best capture the full scale of first ever tail-down belly-flop maneuver with beautiful South Padre Island in the foreground.
The amazing audio you hear was recording using a 3D binaural microphone at Isla Blanca Beach park, one of the best public place to view Starship from.

Big thanks to @EverydayAstronaut and Gene and Rachel of Spadre.com for an amazing adventure witnessing, documenting, and sharing this historic event. Everything has changed.
On December 9, SpaceX successfully launched Starship SN8 on its first-ever high-altitude test flight to 12.5 km (41,000 ft). We and the crowds at South Padre Island lost our minds. We also made lots of new friends, especially Gene and Rachel of Spadre.com, long-time Starship documenters, and wonderful passionate humans we very much look up to.
On launch day, as part of the @EverydayAstronaut livestream team, we used a joystick-controlled telescope and a series of high-speed cameras (including one of the most epic anamorphic shots ever) to record the moment of liftoff and track the rocket through its unbelievable belly-flop maneuver and landing attempt. So grateful to Tim, Gene and Rachel for an amazing adventure witnessing, documenting, and sharing this historic event. Everything has changed.

#Starship #SN8 #SpaceXRocket Theater Episode 1: NASA SpaceX Crew-1Cosmic Perspective2020-11-24 | When four humans left Earth on SpaceX Crew Dragon Resilience, they took us... and the world, with them. Later, we paused as Falcon neared main engine cutoff and beautiful nebula colors formed in the sky.
In our new behind-the-scenes series—Rocket Theater—relive the moment of liftoff as we place cameras at the launchpad, interview the astronauts and track liftoff up-close from the NASA causeway (with a ridiculously zoomed-in camera).
SpaceX successfully launched Crew-1, the first operational Commercial Crew mission, sending NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, and Shannon Walker, and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Soichi Noguchi on a journey to the International Space Station.
I hope you enjoy Episode 1 of Rocket Theater. Ideas or comments for the future? Leave them below.
Relive the exhilarating launch during the @Everyday Astronaut live stream: youtu.be/IQCWqlHAaL8?t=15164 - so much thanks to Tim Dodd and the rest of the telescope team!

#Crew1 #SpaceX #NASA #space #RocketTheaterCrew 1: Pre-launch Footage From Remote Camera Placement, Speech by astronaut Soichi NoguchiCosmic Perspective2020-11-15 | During the rush of remote camera placement on Friday, I just barely managed to shoot some scenes of SpaceX Crew Dragon in the wild and on the pad. What a sight, she is so beautiful! We are inspired and reverent for this crew, this place and these people making it all happen.
Just after arriving here at KSC and Cape Canaveral, astronaut Soichi Noguchi's @astrosoichi shared thoughts about this historic mission. Soichi is a force for inspiration all over the world and we've had the pleasure of learning more about his work over the last few weeks.
Looking forward to sharing up-close footage from the remote cameras seen here (hopefully surviving 54 hours in the rain) soon after liftoff.
