Allen MillyardIn this video i explain how i made some of the parts for my Kawasaki Z 2300 V12 some of the problems i had and how i over come them. The video is primarily old photos and a bit of old video taken in 2005, I don't have any riding footage, but i did around 2500 miles on the V12 before retiring it to the Barber Motorsport Museum in Birmingham Alabama USA where it can be sen today along side my Kawasaki 1600 V8, 850 five and HondaV Twin. The V12 is a 24 valve double overhead cam engine with digital fuel injection and although was quite fast it also used fuel at an alarming rate. I rode it to The Isle of Man TT in 2003 and did several laps of the famous mountain circuit.

The engine has a flat spot midrange feeling like its week on the needle so I remove the needles and raise them one groove to richen the mixture a little bit. The second test ride is much better, the flat spot has gone and its now covered 53 miles and is running perfect with no oil leaks. AllenMillyard Kawasaki H2 1000 four cylinderAllen Millyard2023-07-04 | This is one of my early Kawasaki H2 1000 fours that I made in 2003. The bike has been in a friends collection for the last 20 years and during this time has covered only 71 miles. I had the bike back for a few days to recommission it and take it out for a gentle ride as it's still running in. Short shifting through the gears its surprising how reaches legal speeds making it fun to ride upto 3000 rpm. After the usual carburettor clean, new voltage regulator, sorting out a squeaky speedo and some air in the tyres it rode really nice. Tracey was out shoe shopping so sadly no cupcakes this time Hope you enjoy the video Best regards AllenTwin disc conversion - Kawasaki S1 550 fourAllen Millyard2023-03-31 | This video shows how I upgraded the front brake of my Kawasaki S1 550 four cylinder from its original single disc to twin disc retaining a factory look. The S Series Kawasaki triples did not have calliper mounting lugs on the left hand fork like the H Series bikes so I convert the left hand fork slider to fit on the right with the calliper mounts pointing forward and repositioned mudguard mounting lugs. Hope you enjoy the video

AllenKawasaki KDX200A engine rebuild - episode 2Allen Millyard2023-02-19 | After sourcing new parts im now ready to to reassemble my Kawasaki KDX200A engine, put it back in the bike and started it up for the first time. This is a 40 year old enduro bike and spares are becoming very scarce so I had to use patten parts where I could find them and accept some parts may be near there service life dimensions. I am continuing to look out for parts like a NOS piston to replace at a later date if one turns up. The video captures the essence of rebuilding an engine and not necessarily a step by step definative guide. Hope you enjoy watching best Regards Allen MillyardKawasaki KDX200A engine repairs - Episode 1Allen Millyard2023-02-12 | Welcome to episode 1 of my Kawasaki KDX200A engine repairs, I restored this bike 16 years ago and I have noticed recently that it has started to smoke quite a lot and decided to remove the engine strip it down to investigate what's wrong. I suspect the crank seals but find out it a lot more than a pair of seals causing the problem. Thanks for watching I hope you find it interesting regards Allen MillyardHow its Made - Carburettor mixture screw adjuster Honda ST1100Allen Millyard2023-01-26 | In this video I show how I made a simple flexible screwdriver to adjust the mixture screws on my Honda ST1100 pan European. All the work has paid off because the 4th gear whine has gone and the big ends are now silent with no knocking. the bike feels more responsive and an annoying vibration at 3000 rpm has also gone. This video is not intended to be an instructional step by step but more an idea what's involved and how I do things in my small garage. In this episode I am continuing with the rebuild of the V4 engine after arrival of a pair of brown spec shell bearings, seals and gaskets. This is not a step by step instructional video showing every single stage but more of an appreciation of what's involved in an engine rebuild and problems encountered. The crankcase sealant I used was Permatex Ultra Grey. hope you enjoy the video regards Allen MillyardHonda ST1100 Pan European repairs - Starter Motor - Episode 3Allen Millyard2023-01-04 | The red ST1100 is stripped and while I was waiting for replacement parts to arrive, especially the 2 brown big end bearing shells, there's not much more I can do regarding the engine assembly. I decided to have a look inside the starter motor and check for wear, the bronze bearings can dry out causing squeaks which is a problem I have on my green ST1100 and its easier to have a look now while the bike is in bits. Tracey was out shopping so there is no baking this time, and the hedgehogs didn't visit so a pair of starlings were happy to step in.

Thanks for watching regards Allen MillyardHonda ST1100 Pan European engine removal and stripAllen Millyard2022-12-25 | Episode 1 This is a different video for me to produce, the bike in question is totally standard and original ST1100 pan European. The engine has a slight knock that I could feel and hear as I loaded the engine while the bike was stationary. Its not the usual clutch rattle so I decided to strip the engine and have a look inside. The bike has 17k miles on it so it will be interesting to find out what the fault might be. In this episode I remove the engine and strip it down to the crankshaft inspecting parts as I go. I hope you enjoy the video and find it interesting.

Due to covid restrictions I only rode it once last year (2021) so I decided to give it a thorough check over before riding it to get an MOT test and then go for a longer ride.
I hope you enjoy the video and it gives you an idea what its like to ride, and to hear the engine running under a bit of load. The transmission is a single speed bevel box, Obviously I had to stay within local speed limits and ride with care.
Best regards AllenKawasaki S1 550 four cylinder Frame repairs - Episode 8Allen Millyard2022-03-17 | In this video I find an old frame for my Kawasaki S1 550 four cylinder engine, it has seen better days but is repairable. It is a bit rusty in places because it's from a UK bike and has seen many salty winter rides in its life time and the original Kawasaki frame paint didn't seem to last well. Its been stored outside for a few years but with a little effort it will be restored to better than original condition with a coat of 2 pac epoxy gloss black paint finish. The four cylinder engine fits into the stock frame with new mounting bolts and a few new spacers. I used 1mm thick slitting wheels and 120 grit flapper wheels on my angle grinder to repair sections of the frame. Im sorry if I sound a bit different at times I was suffering a bit with a cold ash the time, but am better now. Hope you enjoy the video, Best regards AllenKawasaki S1 550 four cylinder first start, ignition timing and carbs. Episode 7Allen Millyard2022-02-02 | In this video im finishing off my 1974 Kawasaki S1 550cc four cylinder engine build making the stator plate to fit 4 sets of contact breaker points and setting the ignition timing. Stripping, cleaning, repairing and fitting the carbs then fitting a set of Delkevic H2C chrome header pipes. I then take it to my friend Henry Cole's farm in the Cotswolds where there is no issues with making a bit of noise. It was a bit loud at times, but the engine started pretty easily and runs really well considering its on open carbs and headers. I will be fitting it into bike in the near future and will post a few videos as it progresses.
Thank you for watching, I hope you enjoy it.
In the video I used clock cleaning solution for the brass bits and alloy wheel cleaning solution for the aluminium parts which is easily available at online auction sites.
The alloy wheel cleaners vary in strength so check first with a spare part to ensure the finish is what you expect, the final finish depends on the make up of the alloy parts. My solutions are 5yrs + old so are quite dilute by now.
I like to make my engines and bikes at home in my garage and shed using the tools and equipment I have to hand and working with hand tools rather than sending parts out to be made or machined.Honda SS50 engine strip down, rebuild and startAllen Millyard2022-01-15 | In this video I strip down and rebuild a 1974 HONDA SS50 4 speed engine showing the problems I found and how I fixed them.Kawasaki S1 four cylinder top end build and cylinder rebore - How its made - Episode 6Allen Millyard2022-01-03 | In this video im putting together the top end of my Kawasaki S1 550cc four cylinder engine and showing how I re-bore the cylinders using my mini bore cylinder boring machine to fit over size pistons.Millyard Kawasaki S1 Four Cylinder - Bottom End Build- Episode 5Allen Millyard2021-12-25 | In this video I will be putting together the bottom end of my Kawasaki S1 550cc four cylinder two stroke engine.
