My Best FC Forever - Nihilanth 150% Speed FC

RobGHH 2024-10-05 | Series 150 is down to the Big 8 and it's by my hands. I started looking at this a couple of weeks ago basically just as a curiosity, to see if I could maybe get Solo 5 to the end. Ensue possibly the most difficult grind I've ever had on Clone Hero (maybe BATM was worse if I'm talking about every game though, no joke).

This song is notorious and for good reason. A Hangar 18 rip-off that's twice as hard, with one gigantic gatekeeping solo halfway through and 8 little ones to put you through the gauntlet. Don't forget the 2 minutes of absolutely nothing that you have to sit through each attempt, and the horrendously chokeable ending strumming + fretting after everything.

Nearly every solo requires hardcore learning if you want any consistency. 1 is huge with "1F" and "1G" being the worst parts. 2 has a couple of transitions and is a killer for mental blocks. 3 requires you to keep steady with triplet strumming. 4 is a mess requiring multiple transitions and weird fretting. 5 is fast and very picky on runs, get ready for your nerves to shoot before and after it too. 6 takes a long, long time to feel comfortable. Strumming or raking through it is consistency suicide, you've just got to be good. 7 is my bro as I never missed it. 8 is easy but you're gonna be nervous - the last thing you want to do is miss the easy solo after all this! 9 is a big f*** you obviously, stupid Jordan tapping with a transition and random notes. And that's just the layman's breakdown.

I'll likely make an in-depth "tutorial" for this just because I've spent so much time going for it that my methods are basically perfect now, by the end of this grind it was essentially just nerve management.

Quite a bit harder than the debut album here. All of the rerecords are souped up with 3/4 of them needing raking now, with Whacko Jacko being the worst (though only because I'm confined to a 3/2). Tom Waits is phat, Act One has some very fast standard strumming, and Macaulay McCulkin is realistically the hardest with that big money open note riff that happens twice at the beginning.

Most of these I've actually done faster already in Bonanza (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u90Sy...) so as a result there are only 2 new FCs in here: Quarter Past 150 (previously done at 140, but now possible faster due to solving the 2/2 rake issue), and AMAPACP (previously did the CTH2 version at 150, this one [TFOTH] is substantially harder and a very good standalone FC. Only became possible with the 2/2 as per the previous song).

Also it looks like the mic was accidentally muted for much of the final song, as you can tell when it comes back in for the last 30 seconds. Ironically it was the only song that had mic audio in the Bonanza section last time...

This is the daddy - or at least, Chapter I is. That song is easily the hardest in the game with multiple raking sections, a brutal solo and horrible riffs in the middle - plus it's 7.5 minutes. The others in this album are pretty active with tons of different tricky things but only Chapter III requires raking. Chapter I was 1AD and I think it's one of my best FCs... but nowadays I've got no idea about a top 10 or anything.

Alright, this one is packed full of hard songs - the ones you know from GH DLC are the easiest on here, besides Webs. Straight-Jacket has a pretty rapid solo at the end, Battleship is super duper chokeable, Empty the Clip has a horrid strumming solo, People and Their Lives has some tapping stuff late on (this one's not bad though really), Dirty Pillow Talk has money throughout, Nobody's Perfect has a terrible riff that lasts 5 seconds, Walk of Fame has a horrible solo, and The Vomiting Winter is littered with money. Nature vs. Nurture is the hardest song in the game on normal speed, here it's 27NPS strumming right at the end for a looong time.

Stevie T Solo Medley FC! (CTH3)

RobGHH 2022-03-14 | I knew I wanted to FC this after I played it for the first time. There are tons of difficult tapping sections that cater well to my standard tapping skills, as well as things that are genuinely difficult to do at all (mainly the end of the final solo where it goes from quintuplet strumming to a really fast sweep, that is hard af). Those chimneys at the end are funny, pretty quick but I never choked there. I'd say this might be the hardest solo medley I've ever FCed.

Plumatos Hell 2 - First Ever 100% FC

RobGHH 2022-03-10 | So this channel exists. Not sure if I'll return to uploading videos here regularly but I felt like putting this one on here. It's definitely not the cleanest thing you'll ever see, but this song (and series, for that matter) was designed to be basically impossible to FC. This is definitely the easiest of the 10 songs in the series, but it's still easily one of the best FCs I've done. The first Buckethead section is nearly hopeless, but eventually, I managed to develop a quad method to stop relying on RNG sliding. The second one is moosed because it worked, and everything in between is missable but linear enough, including the rake strumming which is fine with my 3/2 guitar. I don't even want to talk about the 764th note, the chokes speak for themselves.

RB3 - Every Round in Bobo FCed

RobGHH 2021-09-27 | First of all, SORRY FOR THE GLARE! I didn't even realise it when I was recording, but luckily it's not unwatchable & the hardest sections are actually unaffected luckily.

This song is pretty hard to do even on CH, difficult enough that it actually had a bounty of $10 for the first FC. I say this every time, but this stuff is so much harder than it looks. With random strums everywhere you just have to be so specific it's not even funny.

Round 1 - Basically an RNG farm. That 5 note sweep thing is impossible to be consistent at, but luckily the rest of the section is easy.
Round 2 - Just easy.
Round 3 - By far the hardest one here, oh my f***ing gosh this is hard to do. That tapping / HOPO bit is strange to play and it's actually 32nds with gaps rather than real triplets, which makes it more irritating to FC. The transition out of that is also pretty difficult, and then those chord trill things are horrendous, they also feel like luck. Then that bit at the end where it goes YRGYBO twice is just hell. There is no way I can justify how much harder that is than it looks in this description.
Round 4 - Not so hard, it's basically just the bit with the really fast burst strums. Not free, but nothing you would expect to be impossible.
Round 5 - Pretty difficult, it has similar things to Round 3 but both of the instances are easier overall.
Round 6 - Definitely a sleeper, in fact I didn't know if this would be possible at all. You see that bit where it alternates between YO chords and orange HOPOs? That's normally very easy on CH because you can just ignore the orange notes in between, but on this game they have to be strummed (or you have to let go of yellow for the HOPOs). Therefore, the strumming speed is doubled, which feels something like 23 or 24nps, which is difficult to even register on this engine.

Just a quick video, but not an easy one to record, which brings me on to my first note. This channel I swore to never use again, but I've decided that I'll put all of the RB3 videos that I put a lot of effort into onto this channel. It's very very rare that I decide to play this game, so these uploads will still be really sparse, but since it's such a chore to grind stuff on here I'd rather put it on my main channel than just dump it amongst things I don't really put a lot of work into. Having said that, my second channel (RobGHH2) has now become less of a channel that I just throw hundreds of videos onto and has instead become one that I only really upload good things to, so sub to that if you want to still follow what I do (99.9% of my content will be on there still).

Second note: The full tech FC of this song is not possible (for me at least, but I doubt anyone could do it honestly). This alludes to the reason why Round 6 is hard, there's a lot more of that chord to HOPO strumming that just goes on for too long to be viable to FC even once (and no, raking is not really an option despite it working on other sections and songs).

So this was the obvious next step after the GH2 FGFC. This game is absolutely easier than the previous, but that doesn't mean there are no challenges in here. Though the setlist is only 30 songs, most of them have an at least mildly tricky solo, and there are the obvious roadblocks of BIM and BB. This was done over two sessions. Aerosmith may be happening at some point as well, and I believe it will be harder than this.

2 Years In the Making - Uber Juice 100% FC!

About a year ago I got yet another -1 in the strange chord part (which was also probably where I missed the first time, but I don't remember). Back then, I was basically locked to 205 FPS, and increasing that would just make the game / OBS lag a lot, so it was a miserable experience. Thanks to upgrading my computer at last, I'm able to play with more ideal settings, so it was time for this finally to go. Thank you for watching the video.

Pwnaphone is probably the 2nd hardest FC in the series, with a lot of strumming and those ladder patterns with transitions. Barren Mountain, on the other hand, was the song that completed the FSFC. These doublets on the GHWoR engine are nightmarish, and they happen not only twice but three times, the final two times being right at the end of what is also the longest custom in the series. This FC was almost 9 years in the making.

The one I wanted to do the most out of all of these really, and it turns out to be one of the hardest. The ladder trills are too fast for me to play particularly accurately, and that Buckethead section is a nuisance.

2:18 - Dead Darling Dancing Deadly
Very short, pretty simple. A little bit of quick strumming into doublets but that's as hard as it gets.

3:00 - Offer's Gigantical House of Chords
Easy enough. The hardest part is actually the end, which ironically enough contains no chords!

4:11 - System Objectives
One of the best ones in here, the opening solo has a fair few hard parts, including some raking which I've never been consistent at. Not terribly hard after that though.

6:52 - TheEruptionOffer's Insane Song
Insane is probably not how this would be described nowadays, there's a fast orange wall and some raking at the end but it's 1 minute long so no big deal.

8:04 - Trama
I guess the orange wall is the hardest part, though I never actually missed it. A few tricky parts here and there but nothing outrageous.

9:04 - Descending Quad Madness
Hardly madness, this is pretty simple even for someone that's poor at quad patterns in general. The quads just aren't fast!

11:09 - Piano Massacre
Not much of a massacre, but the 4 note chords are finger twisting to say the least.

12:17 - Monica's Piano Massacre
Harder than the original Piano Massacre by quite a bit, the patterns are fast though basic (especially the zigzag, which can miss at 200 FPS).

13:37 - Stone Hamburger
The only real part of note here is the strange reverse quint chimney part just before the outro. Standard tapped, of course.

15:18 - Thank Song to Boxymonk
Woeful as a song, the trill parts in the final cycle are annoying only because of the strums in the middle of them.

Pretty simple, especially compared to what Soulless is nowadays!

Actually pretty difficult, the patterns are quick but nothing is that stupid until the strumming, which was faster than I expected. Immediately following that you've got the oddly charted strummed zig which, as far as I'm concerned, has no tempo.

19:17 - Offer's Freakshow
There's nothing that bad here, the ending is missable but the song is short so it's not really a deal if you screw it up.

20:20 - Roll Over
Easiest one of them all, just 16th notes in random patterns that end in about 40 seconds.

21:12 - Mr. Bassbox (Both charts)
OK so strictly speaking I actually only FCed 16 songs but this one counts for two since I did both charts. Bass basically boils down to a quick raking part that only lasts 8 notes, but guitar is another story. There are only 2 missable parts, the first being the admittedly fast transition into those trips (made worse by the fact it starts with a GRO), but the second is much worse. Those ladders are fast, but on their own they're not particularly hard. No, what makes it hard is the chord afterwards - it provided an unsolvable mental block for me, so this was actually the final chart I FCed of all of these.

Essentially just the ending solo, which consists of doublets with minor variations. This is probably the hardest Megadeth bass for me.

The guitar solo is very strange, with random fast bursts followed by an orange wall. Very missable.

11:01 - #48: Melted Picks and Broken Sticks
This is just the bass solo as far as I can remember. A quick barrage of notes that lasts about 5 seconds.

15:29 - #47: I am S/H(im)e[r]...
10-minute track first of all, the bookends are sort of missable but the main difficult part is the section with ascending trips with random strums in.

25:20 - #46: Jesus Christ Pose
About 6 minutes of forced fretting, it never gets crazy so it's more of an endurance test than anything.

31:37 - #45: Ceraunophobia
The riffs during the big solo are pretty much the same as guitar IIRC, so it's a case of being able to time your strums. I think I had a bit of trouble with this one.

36:49 - #44: Closer to the Edge
Same pattern throughout the whole song, if you have bad timing you've got no chance at all.

41:20 - #43: Reson-8-R (Parts I & II)
Extremely boring, this 10-minute track only picks up during the second half, where the same pattern happens over and over again. It's not hard but mentally draining.

51:37 - #42: Dream Genie
This song is the reason why this episode is so delayed. For me this could easily be in the top 10, it took me ages to find a way of being at least somewhat consistent and even then it took a while to actually pull it off. 4 minutes of non-stop grace notes followed by strums, as well as straight up doublets in the jams. Tempo changes are the real enemy here.

58:17 - #41: Chasing the Light
Just a strumfest, maybe a few fills here and there. I don't really remember this one so it's probably not very hard.

Zakk Wylde Solo Medley FC (CTH)

During my most recent run of The Ultimate Endurance Challenge (which is now 2nd place), I managed to choke this medley on the 3rd last note, which is sort of unbelievable because for one, I hadn't practised anything in it for ages and two, how do you miss there? Anyway, I finally decided to actually FC since it could be done clearly. Apparently, I'm quite consistent with it as this was essentially a first try FC (ignoring some pointless mistakes in the first 30 seconds a couple of times). But yeah, only the 2nd ever FC of this medley as far as I know.

The Best Sightreading I Will Ever Do... (FP)

RobGHH 2019-10-19 | The Hero and Other Tales by Aeon Bridge is a 21-minute shredfest with numerous solos. This FC was entirely sightread outside of the very end, i.e. the big rock ending. How I was able to clutch out some of the tapping sections, especially the solo about 18 minutes in, is beyond me. It's hard enough paying attention in any song for over 20 minutes, never mind one of this difficulty. This also means that 2 songs remain for Focal Point, which are Aeon Bridge Discography Solo Medley (which will never get FCed) and For the Love of Art and the Making, which is basically just really long (38 minutes or so).

Recurrence 1st Ever FC (AH2)

RobGHH 2019-10-13 | Initially, I didn't think I'd be able to FC this, not because of Super X-Zone but because of X-Zone itself appearing a total of 4 times throughout the song (including the very end). Luckily I had no chokes and this took only 3 runs to Super X-Zone to FC. For Anti Hero 2, only Thrash Metal Solo Medley and Mike Orlando Solo Medley 2 remain.

NB: The audio for this song is extremely quiet, and unfortunately, it's almost impossible to hear in this video. I think it's a solid piece of music though!

RobGHH 2019-10-08 | By virtue of me having played this game for over 10 years and still not being that good at pattern-based tapping songs (by my own admission), I decided to spend a couple of days trying to FC some songs that have been on my radar for some time. This video is the result (and also my only video on V23 until CHLauncher works on it).

0:00 ~ Zoidberg the Cowboy
Chronologically the first FC I got, I think I was just playing around with it trying to get 7 stars and eventually realised I could FC outside of the quint chimneys. Black suggested a new method for them [(OG)RYBOBYR(GOG) etc] and I managed to actually pull it off. This spurred my interest in getting some more 'overdue' FCs.

0:35 ~ Enigma
I've tried this in the past but was never able to successfully hit Solo 1C, and it was still a total pain when going for it this time. Some other things, primarily the descending quads, were tricky too. Perhaps luckily, I never had an ending choke (I half expected this to be the case though, really).
Taps chart, but I don't think it makes much difference.

1:53 ~ 30-30
The easiest FC for me here personally, it only took about 2 minutes from playread. Basic patterns at a brisk pace, for most people it comes down to playing until you hit the admittedly fast ladders, which in my case was a single run.

2:28 ~ Blunderbuss
I didn't know this song very well outside of Silly Sweeps so I wasn't sure whether it was doable or not until I played it. Thankfully, everything was possible and it didn't take too long to create methods for everything, mental blocks in the orange wall notwithstanding. I think it took somewhere around 8 ending 'chokes' to finally FC it.

3:25 ~ AVC
Far and away the hardest FC in this video, it took over 500 attempts, making it one of the largest grinds I've had in a long time (but bear in mind each attempt was generally less than 30 seconds, most of the time in the first 10). Descending quads have always been a strange 'Achilles Heel' for me, so I had to standard tap a few of them for consistency's sake. The transition out of the strumming is also faster than it appears, and it's followed by the hardest part of the song (reverse quad chimneys involving a GRBO). It took probably 10 ending chokes including 5 on the very last set of quad zigs, so needless to say I was very relieved to get this done.

Braingate - Four Ways

RobGHH 2019-09-27 | In the top left, we have the Intense Smoke Hero 2 chart, which is also the oldest chart of the four. This was made by either Void or Hotzin. Nubbing section isn't too bad, but still tricky enough.

In the top right, we have the Plastic Shred Hero chart, made by Landon. This could be the most intense, and I would say it's either the hardest or second hardest.

In the bottom left, we have the Dominion 3 chart, by an unknown charter. This looks like it used the ISH2 chart as a base, but some of the sections are harder, especially the nubbing section. This or Landon's is the hardest chart.

In the bottom right, we have 760's chart. Probably the cleanest chart of this song, but also the easiest, I found. The nubbing section is charted in such a way that no learning is necessary.

I am absolutely sick of this song, what with editing this video and FCing it 4 times, so please, no one make any more charts of it!

2:24 - Inside the Whale
The easiest of them all, but still fairly tricky, personally. The quads and the transitions into them are highly missable, as well as a little bit of movement before them.

4:48 - Space Colony
This was actually the first one I FCed, chords everywhere that required a little bit of method learning, followed by some pretty fast fretting and tapping at the end of the solo. Still, apparently I was consistent enough to FC this a second time in a run of the entire soundtrack...
