Wählen Frauen anders als Männer und welche Faktoren beeinflussen das Wahlverhalten?Forscherinnen und Forscher von Eurac Research und Apollis haben dazu Wahldaten analysiert und eine repräsentative Bevölkerungsumfrage in Südtirol mit mehr als 600 Personen durchgeführt. In dieser Abendveranstaltung stellten wir die Umfrageergebnisse vor. Zum Thema folgte eine Podiumsdiskussion mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus der Politik. Exhibition Mummies. Unwrapping the Past Eurac Research 2023-01-20 | In 2019, our researchers from the Institute for Mummy Studies together with the Egyptologist from the Museo Civico Archeologico di Bologna launched a project on two rare Egyptian mummies that had long been kept in the museum's vaults. The two mummies vary in terms of age, sex and chronology, and display characteristics that make them unique. After an in-depth interdisciplinary study and careful conservation work, the two mummies will be returned to both the scientific community and the public in an exhibition as part of the 10th World Congress on Mummy Studies. The exhibition 'Mummies. Unwrapping the Past’ will open on 2 September at the NOI Techpark in Bolzano and will remain open until 8 October 2022. Admission is free. Nachhaltiges Ernährungssystem Südtirol (NEST) Kick Off Event Eurac Research 2022-07-11 | Regionaler, ökologischer und fairer soll es bald in Südtirols Gastronomie zugehen. In diesem Sinne fand am 24.06.2022 im Landhaus Bozen der Auftakt des NEST-Projektes in Form eines Kick-Off Meeting, mit zahlreichen beteiligten Akteuren aus Gastronomie, Landwirtschaft und Logistik, statt.Eingeleitet wurde in die Veranstaltung durch Südtirols Landeshauptmann Arno Kompatscher, mit einer sehr persönlichen Ansprache und Erklärung, wieso ihm NEST ein Herzens-Projekt sei. Schon seit langem werde über nachhaltige Ernährung in der Gastronomie diskutiert, dieser Prozess müsse jetzt strukturiert werden, so Kompatscher. Anschließend wurden von Felix Hartmann, Institut für Regionalentwicklung von Eurac Research, zentrale Aspekte zu NEST und die Phasen der Projektrealisierung vorgestellt. Derzeit befinden wir uns in der ersten Phase des Projektes: der Erarbeitung der Kriterien für ein nachhaltiges Ernährungssystem und einer Erhebung über die Aktuelle Situation von Konsum und Verbrauch von Nahrungsmitteln in Südtirol. An die Präsentation der Eurac folgte eine Beleuchtung des Themas „Regionalisierung von Lebensmittelnetzwerken“ durch den Innsbrucker Universitäts Professor Markus Schermer. Ein bereits bestehendes Netzwerk zwischen Gastronomen und Landwirten gibt es bereits in Bayern. Das Projekt wurde im Anschluss an Schermer vorgestellt und trägt den Titel „Wirt sucht Bauer“, es handelt sich hierbei um eine Vermittlungsplattform, auf die ohne weitere Kosten zugegriffen werden kann. Die Präsentationsrunde endete mit einem Vortrag des Südtiroler Logistik Start-ups SLOAN.An die Vortragsrunde schloss eine offene Diskussionsrunde an, jeder Teilnehmer stellte sich kurz persönlich vor und sprach über seine Erwartungen an NEST. Dabei wurden verschiedenste Punkte angesprochen wie die Nachhaltigkeit steigern, ohne den Komfort für Gäste zu verlieren oder die Risikobereitschaft von Landwirten zur Umstellung auf andere Kulturen erhöhen indem auf bestehende Netzwerke im Bereich Vertrieb und Logistik zurückgegriffen werden kann.

Forscherinnen und Forscher von Eurac Research haben dazu Wahldaten analysiert, über 300 Mandatarinnen auf Südtiroler Gemeindeebene befragt sowie südtirolweit eine repräsentative Wählerinnen- und Wählerumfrage mit mehr als 600 Personen durchgeführt. In dieser Abendveranstaltung stellen Eurac Research, der Landesbeirat für Chancengleichheit und das Frauenbüro der Autonomen Provinz Bozen-Südtirol die Umfrageergebnisse sowie Ansatzpunkte für mehr Frauen in der Politik vor. Zum Thema folgt eine Podiumsdiskussion mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus Wissenschaft, Politik und Medien. Eurac Research collaborates with Bolivia for the preservation of cultural heritage Eurac Research 2022-07-06 | Mummy researchers from Eurac Research recently came back from a field trip to la Paz, Bolivia. The team from the Institute for Mummy Studies were there to analyse over 50 pre-Colombian mummies and over 500 human skulls which are housed at MUNARQ – the Museum of Archaeology in La Paz. The official collaboration between the institute and the Plurinational State of Bolivia’s Ministry of Cultures, Decolonization and Despatriarchalization was formalized at a press conference with Minister of Culture Sabina Orellana and Institute Head Albert Zink. The project will offer ethical preservation guidelines and reveal insights into the health and lifestyles of these ancient individuals. MedSENS: Patented device to measure temperature and other vital parameters from the ear canal Eurac Research 2022-06-29 | It looks like a headset for listening to music, uses sensors placed in the external ear canal and has been tested in the terraXcube, in temperatures between -10 and 20 °C. The space-saving, noninvasive and easy-to-use instrument that not only measures core temperature, but also oxygen saturation and heart rate. Eurac Research patented it in collaboration with companies Minnova Med and Kerr Srl, the innovative device performs best in emergency medical interventions, but could also be used in other hospital settings.
