As well as some other minor things like adding a 7th star and reworking how score saving works (it doesn't just track your highest score anymore, it tracks each individual aspect of your score and updates if any of them were beaten). MIDIFix is also not needed anymore, so good riddance to that.And yes, a Mac version.Also, huge shoutouts to Aeon Bridge/2D Humanity for the song and Siavash for filling in the rest of the instruments and difficulties in the chart as well as lyrics. Next, there's reworked profile and setlist features which allow for creating and renaming profiles in-game (old profiles are unsupported and must be remade in-game) as well as saving and loading setlists (the setlist files can be shared, they're located next to the cache in AppData/Locallow/srylain Inc/Clone Hero). Then there's a countdown that counts down the amount of time until the next note (if there's more than a 5 second gap between notes). There's also some gameplay improvements as well as bug fixes.Hopefully this works as well as it should so we can get on to making those big new features for v.2. Please update (use the links right above in the description).First and foremost, this update's a bit technical. In order to add new songs now, you must press Scan Songs from the Settings menu. This is to help speedup the initial loading time of the game, as already scanned songs are cached and loaded much faster now. I spent a lot of time on this to make sure it works right, but if you find any problems with it let me know here or in Discord (like if any songs fail to load in that worked on previous builds).Other than much faster startup times, there's a couple extra modifiers added (Note Shuffle and HOPO's to Taps) as well as the ability to choose multiple modifiers at once. There's a couple more sort filters (Song Length and Date Added), maximum star count raised to 6 (think of it like Gold Stars from Rock Band), and the ability to set multiple keys to the same button.Who knows what'll happen in 2018? Clone Hero, now with randomized notes Clone Hero 2017-12-06 | Here's a thing, should it be a thing?This is basically a shuffle mode, which takes the number of notes in a chord and randomly places them (think GH5/GH6's Note Shuffle modifier). Open notes will need to be dealt with, but having strings of HOPO's that are the same note might not be able to be fixed because you'd still have the issue of forced flags causing them to be whatever it was forced to. I'm pretty sure Neversoft just made alternate charts that were used when Note Shuffle was turned on.Currently it's setup in a way that you can use your own seeds to randomize each playthrough, which these seeds could be shared if so desired.If you've got any suggestions, let me hear them.

Clone Hero v.17 Preview - Video Backgrounds Clone Hero 2017-11-09 | Since the channel just hit 3k subs, here's a video showcasing a new feature coming to CH in the next version.Currently this only works with MP4 videos, but depending on how things go I'll probably be able to add more formats (certain formats take more processing to play, which causes performance loss). I haven't messed around with speeding up or slowing down the videos yet though, so I have no idea how well Unity's video player will handle playing a video at 5000% speed (it probably won't) so when a video is set to play too fast I'll probably make it revert to your image background.So far, the way this works is just by placing a video into a song folder that's called "video". I'm also working on making it so you can have a generic video that gets used for every song that loops, but right now it only works with song specific videos.Either way, videos are a thing and are coming. The reason they didn't come earlier was because of reports of the animated menu backgrounds causing massive frame drops, so I held off on it so I could test it some more. On my PC (i5 4570/GTX 980) I'm only losing about 200FPS while a video is playing, but at 2,000 FPS any little thing drops the framerate greatly because each frame is only taking half a millisecond.

In order to use it, you must have an X360 GHL dongle and a GHL guitar (doesn't matter what guitar, as long as you have the 360 dongle) and Windows 10. Standard Guitar/Bass/Keys charts have the ability to be auto-converted to 6 Fret format, but because they aren't properly charted for the mode expect the conversions to be pretty hard to play.Outside of 6 Fret gameplay, there's quite a bit more too. Song scanning should be much faster (except for the first time), the game will now let you more visibly choose your Instrument/Difficulty/Modifier, some bugs were fixed, some settings added, and maybe something added to an Easter Egg?Hope you guys all have fun with this, it took a lot of effort. But in the end, it'll make adding new types of gameplay (Drums anyone?) much easier than it was before. At least, I hope it will.
An Early Look at What Became Clone Hero Clone Hero 2017-10-07 | With GH3 recently having re-activated account servers, I thought what better time to show off that I had a somewhat working online mode as well?This is an extremely old build of what I call GuitarGame (Clone Hero is 2GuitarGame). This was basically my first project in Unity, and after I stopped working on it for about a year and a half I started what we know as Clone Hero from the scraps of GuitarGame. You can see PoisonedPanther join in (he has a (remote) tag next to his name), and it works well enough that we're both able to play the same song together and all of the values stay synced throughout the whole thing (score, SP, combo, etc).Clone Hero doesn't support online multiplayer in any way, yet, but this video is just a way of me showing that I have done online multiplayer before (in a very limited and buggy way) and I also just wanted to let people know that online multiplayer is definitely coming to Clone Hero at some point (when it happens I don't know, but it's quite a ways away).This can also be seen as a 2K subs video (even though I haven't reached that number yet), as v.15 of Clone Hero is still being worked on and I probably won't release it before 2K subs is hit. Clone Hero v.14.5 Release - Relax Clone Hero 2017-09-19 | Game Link (Windows 32/64, Linux):MEGA: bit.ly/2MGGSnADiscord Server: discord.gg/Hsn4CguWhile I did say that GHL was coming for v.15, I didn't say there wouldn't be a release in between then (I just felt like you all deserved another release before then).In v.14.5, there's some bug fixes, some changes (like animated menu backgrounds, song speed in Practice, selectable highways in profile settings), and the ability to increase how often your controller is polled for input.The controller polling rate in all versions of CH before was 240Hz (meaning 240 times a second). You can now change it (Game Modifiers/Controller Poll Rate), but keep in mind that the higher you set it to the more CPU power it'll take. Setting it higher will make certain "bleep bloop" songs playable. First thing's first, Unity's audio engine was swapped out for Bass.NET which allows for pitch-shifted timestretching (no longer do singers sound like chipmunks), MP3 support, and overall better sounding audio as well as reduced audio latency so you'll have to re-calibrate your audio lag. Some of the sound effects may be a bit too loud (meaning they probably are too loud), and that'll be worked on for the future.Second, some improvements were made to the colors the notes are rendered with to make them brighter. The frets are also colored by Unity now, so eventually you'll be able to create your own note colors.Third, lots of improvements to the song select screen which includes a playlist sort filter (if you place a song in "Songs/Guitar Hero 3/Bonus" for example, that song's playlist will be "Guitar Hero 3/Bonus") as well as section headers that are sticky (they stick to the top of the screen so you always know which section you're in).Fourth, there's quite a few bug fixes (look in the changelog to see what's all different).
Clone Hero - Thunderhorse (5000%) FC Clone Hero 2017-08-06 | I guess you can call this a 200 sub special or something, but I just wanted to give a little update on v.12 as well. v.12's coming in a day or two, just got some audio stuff to re-implement since I changed audio engines (which is why 5000% speedups are possible now).The bot is able to play one note a frame, and the game's running at 500FPS so it's easily able to play ~850 notes in a second or two.

Technically there's really no limit to how many players you can have playing at once, but once you get to 5 screen space gets a bit hard to come by so it becomes incredibly difficult to read your highway.

Clone Hero - Beast and the Harlot (Bass) Clone Hero 2017-04-24 | Just implemented Open notes from MIDI's, and what better way to test them then with a song that's full of them? Remember that none of the GH games had guitar charts with open notes, but Clone Hero will support that if people want to make charts for it.This is the bass chart from Smash Hits. There's no bot playing this time, and the few mistakes are because the game started to get jumpy at parts (probably because I need to fix encoding settings in OBS). Even the video came out a bit jumpy, even though the previous one was just fine...
Clone Hero - Through the Fire and Flames Clone Hero 2017-04-24 | Just a video showing Clone Hero's progress. The biggest recent addition are tap notes, both from MIDI and .chart files (this TTFAF chart is from Smash Hits). So far I haven't seen any problems with them, as in, every note that's supposed to be a tap note is a tap note.This is a bot playing, by the way. I always sucked at Smash Hit's TTFAF (although I did manage 750k on GH3 TTFAF a long time ago). Bots correctly play sustains now, although sustains do have a problem with the frets and sparks not disabling if you're holding a sustain and you hit another sustain before the current one ends.
Clone Hero - Green Grass and High Tides Clone Hero 2017-04-11 | Just another update video, mostly all the changes since the last video are purely visual (WoR flames, beat lines, and some changes to the highway texture).Currently working on making the buttons stay up while playing a sustain, as well as getting in the sparks as well for that. Also working on a song select screen, so whenever the next build release comes you won't have to constantly change file names.*This is a bot playing, you can tell because the sustains immediately disappear after the note is played. Clone Hero - Tenacious D - Kickapoo Clone Hero 2017-03-30 | Another snapshot of the current status of Clone Hero.Sustains are now loaded (albeit improperly, if there's a BPM change in the middle of a sustain it can be thrown off. Luckily it's not too noticeable since this song doesn't have many BPM changes), the buttons at the bottom animate when you press a button or play a note correctly (no flames yet), and the sustains are a bit buggy (they disappear when played and can lead to "hitting" a lot of notes on the score counter).You can also probably tell that HOPO's are a bit off (some are when they shouldn't be), but that'll be fixed in time as will the sustains.
Clone Hero - Halestorm - Love Bites (So Do I) Clone Hero 2017-03-23 | Since I had implemented chart loading (from .chart files) yesterday, I thought I should go ahead and get controller support already and try out a song. So I tried a song with open notes and everything seems to work perfectly (outside of sustains, haven't implemented those yet), just needs some more visual feedback of when you hit notes (like the flames and the buttons animating).I also made the notes fade in as they come on-screen, might be kinda hard to tell but it does look better than before (they just popped in before) so I might make them take longer to fade in so it's more visable.HOPOs (Hammerons/Pulloffs) are a bit weird right now, since I'm not reading in the force flags (basically they force a note to either be a HOPO or not) and I'm not checking if they're 16th notes (in the official games a 16th note is a HOPO, given that it isn't the same note as the one before it). So basically, some notes will be HOPOs and some won't when they're supposed to be.

Clone Hero (3/22/2017) Clone Hero 2017-03-22 | Added a couple more things ripped from GH3PC (the strike line button sprites and the guitar string sprite), made the highway texture scroll based on how fast the notes are moving, and showed what it looks like when you change the note speed (basically it's Hyperspeed) while the game is playing.
Clone Hero Update (3/19/2017) Clone Hero 2017-03-19 | Just added in some basic gameplay so the notes can be played now. There aren't any flame animations for when a note is hit yet though. Also messed around with the camera angle and Field of View, which is why the highway looks a bit bigger.You can also see the framerate in the upper left corner, keep in mind that while not recording the framerate is usually ~300 higher. Hopefully most will see 4500FPS as a step up from GH3's horribly unoptimized PC port.
