Whe had to choose 1 character and in this round we had to make a happy video, show and tell why you love them.I picked this beautiful badass cutie pie.So why I love him (and sorry for the very long text) :that hair. the intelligence, the looks, the wit and others too, but… the hair.More seriously, he has been through so much. he has a strained relationship with his father and brother, he had a wife who divorced him because of his job in the military.he lost so many people, so many friends and family. got tortured so much, so many times.for god's sake, he disobeyed a direct order and risked his life in an (failed) attempt to save the lives of several soldiers and got punished for it. a lot of people in the air force thought he would never make it past captain.and look where he is at the end of the show. he is now lt. colonel, he is the military commander of the freaking city of Atlantis AND he is one of the most respected military leader of the SGC.also, i know that the last scene is supposed to be funny and that's why it's in the vid but i bet you anything that it's the first time anyone tells him (or a version of himself) that.and HE is the one to say it, it's so sad :(he's sweet, charming and considerate and strong. he cares about his team and his friends, but he’s also very empathetic, patient (especially with Rodney) and kind. he would literally give his life (and almost did... many times) for his friends and family.he’s actually an excellent marksman, an outstanding pilot and a brilliant strategist and his gut instinct is usually right and he listens to it without much hesitation. he digs the action, like really digs it, and he’s also prone to taking action but only if the situation demands it. he is highly intelligent, he passed the freaking mensa entry test.And despite all of this, he is relatively humble and really laid-back and easy-going with most of the civilians AND the military staff below him (in terms of rank).I was doing some research for a gifset project the other day and found this on a wiki : "The appeal of John Sheppard, for me, is that he can be heroic and competent one minute, and then be the biggest dork in two galaxies the next. I had to chose an element, and I've seen so many videos on Fire, Water and a few on Earth, I decided to go with Air, obviously ^^Air is not only peace and freedom, or flying or wind in your face. I also wanted to show how the element of air can affect the martial arts. Usually when you think about fights and martial arts, you associate those with the element of Earth. In the martial arts, the element of Air can be seen through agility and peace of mind. Fighters like K'tano, Four, Teyla or even B are for me the representation of that. They never lose their head (except on a few occasions) during a fight, and rely on their agility rather then brutal force.I also wanted to keep this video 'light', without effects, simple.
