In the Woods Folio - Using Paper Cameo Papers - A Tutorial Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2024-09-18 | Hi everyone! Please like this video if you found anything useful. I really appreciate it! XOLast year I made a folio for a Graphics Fairy Design Team project (Link: youtu.be/gtiOA6EUoIw?si=M4YoBgCJxedRfvMp) and I had many requests for a tutorial. I never got around to it last year and I tried and tried to find the tutorial that I had watched to learn the technique. Well, I have finally found it again and I have also made my own since I do cover all of the base with papers I have purchased from The Paper Cameo. The first 3.5 minutes are a little flip through of the finished folio. I then make the folio base. I am sorry, but the pockets were made later and I make such a mess during the pocket phase, I did not record that, but if any are interested, I will be making another folio and I will make a little tutorial on the pockets. I used Nicola's new Into the Woods kit and her Ledger Botanical kit to construct this folio. I printed all of the papers on Epson Presentation Paper Matte, 8.5 x 11 Inch, 100 Count (S041062), White, which gives this folio a really gorgeous feel and look. I was transfixed. This journal is in part a homage to her style. No two stories will ever be the same.This particular journal is made from a combination of old and new papers that are made to look old. One very special feature is a really old Tin Type of a very mysterious woman. The Cover is made from a scrap of stamped fabric, crinkled ribbon and vintage lace. A very lovely wax seal and tiny mother of pearl button complete the cover. I encourage anyone who acquires a She Journal to add to the journal by snipping words and phrases that speak to you. Take a glue stick along with you and you will always be prepared! This is a mystical, uplifting talisman or (taliswoman) you can keep in your purse, or next to your bed. Tuck it in your lingerie drawer with lavender sachets. You can hold it in the palm of your hand for courage or comfort. Sam Poole Design Team - A Cluster Book - Junk Journal #sampooledt #clusters Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2024-02-01 | Hello all! I am here today with a "craft with me" combo "Junk Journal essentials" kind of video. In this video I have made a "Junk Journal Cluster Book" based on an idea from Tina @shabbydabbydoodah. This fun, useful book of clusters can be used whenever you need some quick and pretty, not to mention well made, ephemera for any journal project. Making a collection of these easily stored cluster books will not only bring joy, but serve a practical purpose as well.I used 100% Sam Poole digital (exclusive of laces and base paper) The cluster ephemera book itself was made by printing out three of Sam's Cabinet Card digitals and the collage page from Sepia Couture. I printed these on 8.5 X 11 letter size USA paper, folding them in half and sewing a seam up the middle. Sam Poole Design Team - Lazy Days - Craft Along with Me #sampooledt Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2024-01-18 | Welcome! I have made an experimental little journal this time. I primarily used the Lazy Days digital kit along with French Spring, Sepia Couture and Floral Tea. I haven't quite finished yet, so there is a bit of "crafting along with me" in this video. This journal is made from deconstructed file folders and features three hidden pockets with file tabbed journal cards. I chose to keep these blank, but they are a beautiful blank as I used lovely tea stained paper to cover the cards. While this is just a simple little project, I did enjoy using techniques that I have never tried before, such as using Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double-Sided Adhesive Roll to adhere the papers to the file folder base. It worked great and left the pages so smooth. I also love old daguerreotypes and old photos of what I call anonymous women. I recently took an @AmityBloom159 "Artist in Bloom" tutorial and I really think it's one of the best ever. This collage uses a Santa from @thegraphicsfairy recent Santa's Sweet Shoppe release. The rest of the project is me trying to use up some of the scraps from my last year's Christmas projects. Little Faith Journal for Sam Poole Design Team Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2023-10-12 | Today is my @sampoole Design Team Day and I have made a sweet little Faith Journal from two of Sam's pretty faith themed digital kits. Jane Eyre Journal - Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2023-09-17 | I started making Jane EYRE JOURNALS soon after I started making junk Journals. They are meant to be my impressions of the novel. They include ephemera from Jane Eyre through the decades. I originally used Tim Holtz papers from his French Industrial papers and the Mercantile papers. I gradually started using papers from other sources and I am working on designing my own papers.For this journal, I am using up the last Tim Holtz paper pads I have and this journal echoes my earlier journals. I also used pages from a very old and crumbly Jane Eyre from 1900. I collage with the pages here and there. I have at least one more Jane Eyre Journal planned for this autumn. Incandescently Lyrical … A “She” Journal. Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2023-09-04 | It has been a minute since I made a She Journal. This one is a little bigger than my others because of this lovely, soft, old fabric I used on the front from Lovely Lottie's. The edging lace I used is from @LavishLaces. The theme is Seven Actresses and a Princess. I stumbled upon these wonderful cigarette trade cards (!!!) and I colored these beautiful late 19th century women (including one princess.) You can find them in digital form in my Etsy shop. I really love bringing old photos to life with color. I removed the word "cigarette" from all the them and added other frames in some cases.This She Journal is mostly composed of vintage papers. Some of these (the folded envelope in the beginning) comes from @Mauricitacreativa. You can find her on instagram. Her vintage papers are lovely and so beautifully curated.The tiny bit of fluff around the rose came to me in a happy mail from my friend Lesly of @leslycrescentmoonjournals She makes lovely journals. The She Journals do take me some time to make as I have to scour old paperbacks for phrases and words I like and reassemble them into a tiny story. I made this a "music video" as I didn't want to spoil their loveliness with too much chat. This will eventually find its way to my Etsy shop, but I have some major commitments and it will take a few weeks to get myself organized. Pink and Cream - Just a Pretty Journal Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2023-08-06 | I was able to finish this journal a week or two ago. I started it back in late March or April...time does fly! I used all sorts of paper ... old, new, from digital kits and scans of my own. I mentioned @SamPoole and @myporchprints-junkjournalt5340 papers specifically. The kit I used from My Porch Prints was the Neutral Base Journal Kit. I really love it and use it quite often. Pink Lemonade - A Sam Poole Design Team Project for July 2023 @SamPoole #sampooledt Dorothy Jane - Lacegrl130 2023-07-20 | This wallet size Journal is made from ripped paper which is collaged onto each page. Diagonal tuck spots and small pockets are used to build up the pages and add interest and places to save snippets of paper and small journal cards. This journal is a good example of what you can do while traveling. I took about 20 pages of @SamPoole digital printouts, a small scissors and some glue and just worked away in the evenings in hotel rooms making the base of the journal. If you are pretty obsessed with this craft as I am, it's a great way to hold off withdrawal! My Etsy shop will open in Mid August with physical items. I have one more trip to make this summer - it has been one of the tripy-est summers I have had in a long time!
