From the port of Funchal we first explored the gorgeous island of Madeira, an autonomous region of Portugal. We stopped and walked around the cute town of Ribeira Brava with beautiful views and I tried the Portuguese Tart with a coffee. We then went 2,000 feet about the shoreline at Cabo Girao with the most spectacular views of Madeira from the world's second highest cliff. As we drove around the island, we saw terraces and small towns including a lookout at Camera Des Lobos which overlooks the fishing village. We then headed back to Funchal for the hop-on hop-off tour bus which pointed out the highlights of this pretty port town and capital of Madeira. There is so much to do in Funchal, we need to go back!
