Top 9 PC Speaker musics - Part 1Silly Thing Codename W2026-09-22 | Top 9 PC Speaker musics - Part 1(For Usagi Electric) Hellorld! on the Commodore Plus/4Silly Thing Codename W2023-11-01 | *Warning: rapidly blinking CRT footage.* The Plus/4 is a moderately weird/rare machine, so it probably qualifies for the challenge, if I do it in the built-in memory monitor. In case you don't know what the "Hellorld" challenge is: youtube.com/watch?v=gQ6mwbTGXGQ But even if it does not qualify, doesn't matter, as I haven't done anything in assembly since forever, so a little thinking for an otherwise boring sleepless night is not wasted time.Descent OPL music from the shareware versionSilly Thing Codename W2023-08-04 | It's different from the full version and I was annoyed that this was absent from YT.Fire & Ice (DOS version with EGA and PC Speaker)Silly Thing Codename W2023-08-03 | You know what, this way it's a decent DOS game! Instead of being a shadow of the Amiga original like with VGA and Adlib.Live action Test Drive 4Silly Thing Codename W2023-07-20 | It's not like the Bullitt car chase scene needed music, it's just on the basis that TD4 also had an L.A. hillside level.Short Time car chase with SNES musicSilly Thing Codename W2023-07-20 | Where is TheMarklar01 when the world needs him?Kitty (1968)Silly Thing Codename W2023-06-04 | "first realistic computer animated character" It's on YouTube already, but with unfitting music and no translations. It bothered me so I took that and made a "fixed" version (at least where the OCR could recognize the text.) It could use some AI based upscaling and cleanup but I am not messing with that for now.Dark Side (Csory) - Commodore Plus/4 version longplaySilly Thing Codename W2021-02-26 | Lorem ipsum.Impossible Mission II - DOS version endingSilly Thing Codename W2021-02-26 | :DA complete race in TCFS Grand Prix CircuitSilly Thing Codename W2021-02-25 | This time we try hard to make it to the finish (on easiest difficulty). You (probably) know how the official ports handle. In this bootleg conversion the automotive/physics simulation is very badly recreated. Such as: -the frame-rate is even more painful (probably by a valid technical reason, but still) -there is no inertia, you either accelerate, or the car is stopping -gear shifting is useless, it just raises the limit on the top speed (and always manual) -you can always blow your engine, even in the topmost gear -the curves are like there are black holes sucking you out of the track on the outer lane -on grass the tires get damaged ...and in curves you're always on the grass -once you get into the pit stop to repair the tires, there's no way out! -plus, there is no prize giving ceremony! But beside the poorly understood/coded aspects, there are also intentionally added features, like the ignition start, and that the mirrors can get damaged. I bet the kid was proud of himself that he could even enhance the realism of a simulator with such pedantic (although questionably useful) details. In his place I most likely I would have :DCastle Master [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-24 | This time you conquer a 3D castle. In total ninja mode! (no sound)
C64 original by Incentive in 1991 Plus/4 conversion by TGMS in 1992. 2020 overhaul by Luca in, well, 2020!Total Eclipse II [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-23 | Oh no! They stole the Sphinx! And yes, that means another ancient curse is triggered.
Original C64 game by Incentive in 1989. Plus/4 conversion by Tarzan in 1991.Total Eclipse [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-22 | Yet another Freescape-engine game, this time set in Egypt. With pyramids. And mummies. And treasure to loot. And an ancient world-destroying curse to lift.
Original C64 game by Incentive in 1989. Plus/4 conversion by SF in 1990.Dark Side [Commodore Plus/4 game] (Tarzans conversion)Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-21 | I have done a video on this already, as in the Tarzan version. Not to be confused with the Csory one. Here we have joystick controls, but somewhat bugged. This time I turned off the music so you can hear the sound effects.Dark Side [Commodore Plus/4 game] (Csorys conversion)Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-21 | This is an alternate conversion of Dark Side. Both were done concurrently by different people. This one functions technically better, although keyboard controls only. I keep the music off, because: 1) the music is much worse here, 2) you'll hear it enough when I do a longplay of it.Driller [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-20 | No sound to be found here... because in space, no one can hear you drill, amirite? Driller is the first game of the bunch that is made with Freescape, a full blown 3D proto-FPS engine for 8- and 16-bit microcomputers. So what's happening here? In theory, you are supposed to find the places where gas accumulates and drill into them before the planet explodes from the pressure. In practice, an entire building teleports there when you "place the driller". I have no idea. Oh, you also have to manage your energy, destroy hostile sentry lazer guns, and solve puzzles that make new areas accessible.
Original C64 version by Incentive in 1987. Plus/4 conversion by Pigmy in 1990.Alpharay [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2021-02-19 | Another ace big-scale production from the usual 1337s of the Plus/4 scene, made in 2019. I had to redo this video because the previous one was recorded with a very old version of the YAPE emulator, and thus glitched horribly. An Astronomers Dream meets The Song of the Second MoonSilly Thing Codename W2021-02-16 | I was just pairing one of the earliest films (An Astronomer's Dream by Georges Melies, 1912) with one of the earliest electronic musics (The Song of the Second Moon by Tom Dissevelt and Kid Baltan, 1957), on the basis of both were appropriately sciency and hauntingly creepy. I don't know how the YT algorithm will react to this regarding rights. The Troops vs Aliens - UFO landing sceneSilly Thing Codename W2020-08-20 | Louis De Funes movie I love these janky old, yet effectively spooky effects alongside with obligatory weird Moog(?) synth music :DBattery 2 [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-19 | That one disliker, I understand you. This channel should be an unbiased showcase of obscure games. But no matter what I do with this one I can't survive for barely even a minute, let alone make a nice recording of it. Yeah, I was under effect of alcohol when I recorded this but I do just as badly when not (except then I get more angry about it). Which is a shame since it looks like it was an ambitous project. But a gazillion random fast bullets and instant death, really!? If you meant to dislike the involvement of alcohol itself, then that's a whole different kettle of fish :DBattery [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-19 | It's like Cybernoid... but without a weapon system, and with the annoying aspects cranked up to over 9000. Not that it's bad, it's just 0% fun and 100% frustrating!Inferno [Commodore 16 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-17 | 16k Ghosts and Goblins got an appropriate title for the Italian release. All ye who play this, abandon all hope for fun.Ghosts N Goblins [Commodore 16 game] (almost longplay :D)Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-17 | Okay, this version I am playing here is technically called Inferno, but there is like 1% difference to 16k GNG. While checking out this, I discovered a bug with the first level boss that made it easier to reach the second level (which is the last one here). Other than that, the bosses are impossible to get around.Adventure Park [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-16 | Flick-screen platformer from 2019. Starring a ...testicle? That's trying to escape from walking ballsacks?Berks Four [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-16 | In 2019 the original creator of the Berks games returns for another one To be honest, I am bit disappointed, because I had my own ideas what a next Berks game would be like. Whatever.XeO3 [Commodore Plus/4 game preview]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-15 | This showed up in like 2008, but was never completed. Well... it's nice and all, but this is the kind of shooter that could bore me to death even back in the C64 days. There is some music with a SIDcart, but it adds not much.Tomcat (Special Edition 2010) [Commodore 16 | Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-09-14 | It's much like the "un-special" version from 1989, except with new levels and other little tweaks. Either way, it is CRUEL! Everything is cruel to you, including the controls and the hit detection!Extraordinary Italian Relatives 2^6 [computer software]Silly Thing Codename W2019-04-27 | Timestamps would be 02:08 the Great Gian... err... the "Big Genderconfused Siblings" 05:06 the "Striking Demonetization Duo" ...okay I can't fool the bots, can I?
I have the thing. Oh, lookie, a mysterious string of characters: y4jme8gu t i n y u r l might know something about it.Pets Rescue [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2019-01-05 | 2018's big +4 game production. Which means, shame on me in 2019.
The excuse is that my computer died last year and on the new one the recording capability didn't work as it did before for annoying reasons. In the mean time even 8-bit guy covered this game, so points are... just to have this video up for completeness sake. The New Dash Dimension [DOS game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-10-31 | Another obscure Boulder Dash clone, pretty accurate to the 8-bit originals. It was shareware long ago, but freeware now. I have no idead why it just runs sluggish on certain levels when there are bigger levels that work on normal speed.
Can be downloaded from: http://www.gratissaugen.de/erbsen/dash.htmlBoulder Star [DOS game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-10-31 | A pretty tipical Boulder Dash clone (aside from the TNT bars and jackhammers) with VGA graphics and hosentrogers. I manually switched between beeper, Adlib sound, and music mode during the video. Loved it as a kid, but I lost it, and there was no trace of it on the Internet anywhere. Someone on Mobygames.com forum has managed to unearth it from an obscure shareware compilation site. Thanks, whoever you are! Altough this is just a 20 level shareware demo, the full version is probably yet to be archived if it still exists somewhere.

(c) 1991 T+K Software.Berks 3 [Commodore 16 | Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-07-11 | It's like the first berks again, except there is a map to explore and the main goal is finding a treasure and unlock the laser beams that protect the way to it. I was going on the easiest difficulty in this session. I also was tempted to add a Kraftwerk tune to the video but nah.

Original arcade game by Williams. Amazing C64 version by Commodore International in 1983. Plus/4 recreation by TCFS in 1990.Commando [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-03-31 | "Let off some steam, Benneth!" After the disappointing official C16 version of the Capcom arcade has been made by Elite Systems, here is the Plus/4 recreation of Commando using much of the graphic assets of the C64 version, and a great TED rendiion of Rob Hubbard's song.
Coded by TCFS design in 1992.Super Cobra [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-03-30 | This one was a commercial release in Hungary back in the day, but I don't think it was actually licensed from Konami (the communist bloc was kind of a "wild east" for software business, you know). Many things seem to be ripped from Anirog's Skramble too. Not a faithful recreation of the arcade game, it is sequenced as a competition (with multiplayer possibility even), you set the number of lives, then have a run at every level, and when your lives run out, you are rated and move on to the next level.

Original Spectrum/C64 game by Codemasters in 1990. Plus/4 coversion by Pigmy, trainers by Luca.Defender of the Crown [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-03-28 | YIPES! Extremely barebone and lacking recreation of the C64 classic. Text mode only, and a few bitmaps taken from the real game (that is in version 8, lesser ones don't even have that). All of the minigames are left out too, just the strategic map is present. I got bored with it quick.
Coded by SCH in 1991.Battle Chess [Commodore Plus/4 game]Silly Thing Codename W2017-03-28 | You know, the chess pieces fight animatedly and stuff. It's heck slow and loads a lot on 8-bitters, but animations can be turned off to speed up. Then again, why turning off the main feature of the game. Other features like 2D mode with regular chess pieces if you're a purist, 2 player mode or computer player(s) with selectable difficulty, undoing the last move, and such.
No sound effects it seems.
In this footage I just let the computer play with itself rather than displaying my non-existent Chess skills.
